An iconic bagel shop in Montreal that’s open 24/7.nnWith places like this, the tricky part is timing. You never quite know when the freshest batch will hit. I stopped in the early morning on a weekday around 6:30am, hoping to see a full display, but the counter was completely empty. They only had a few bagels left in the back, so I grabbed a poppy seed, an everything, and a sesame.nnTo be honest, all the bagels looked fairly basic. It was my first time trying Montreal-style bagels, and they turned out to be smaller, denser, and sweeter than the New York–style I’m used to. Not the soft, pillowy kind, but not dry either. Just a nice, tight chew. Given their size, they felt better suited for a rip and dip than for a sandwich. I still picked up a small pack of lox to pair with the everything bagel. The salmon was good, but the dough’s natural sweetness made it play better with flavored cream cheese.nnNotes: Cash only
A must-visit in Montreal! Fairmount Bagel truly lives up to its legendary reputation. The bagels are freshly baked, chewy on the inside with the perfect crisp on the outside especially delicious when they’re still warm. I loved the sesame and poppy seed ones the most, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any flavour. The staff was friendly, service was quick despite the line, and the smell inside the shop is just amazing. A perfect spot to grab some authentic Montreal bagels to-go. Highly recommended!
An absolute must-visit in Montreal! This iconic bagel shop truly lives up to the hype. Open 24 hours, it’s perfect for a late-night craving or an early morning treat. The smell of fresh-baked bagels hits you the moment you walk in — warm, comforting, and impossible to resist.nnThe bagels are top-notch: perfectly chewy, slightly sweet, and always fresh out of the oven. They offer a great variety too — sesame, poppy, cinnamon raisin, everything — there’s something for everyone. You can really taste the quality and tradition in every bite.nnOn top of that, the customer service is fantastic. Friendly, efficient, and welcoming, even in the middle of the night. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both quality and consistency like this. Truly the one and only — a Montreal classic that never disappoints!
Their bagels are very good. Great thing is, the shopping open 24 hours so we went at 11pm and we were ablebget fresh from oven bagels. The bagels have slightly crunchy crest and we loved it.nnJust note that they accept only cash or debit card for anything over 10 They also take USD at 1:1 ratio which would make it pretty expensive. There's an ATM nearby
One of our very top picks for bagels in montreal, our favorite always flip flops between the two most popular! This was the first time today that we got in and out with no lineup! However on the way out they were already 10 people behind us! Can't wait to devour another dozen of our favorite Fairmont bagels!
