I got there early enough on a Sunday morning the the line wasn’t too long - I only waited a few minutes before I was able to go inside. There is a person who comes out to greet everyone and coordinate where to sit if doing dine-in. I dined in but didn’t get anything fancy. I just got three bagels everything, sesame and poppy and a small tub of garlic and herb cream cheese. This was my first time trying a proper Montreal bagel and I gotta say they are pretty amazing. I tore a bit from each bagel and dipped it into the cream cheese. Good move. Probably the best move I made that morning. The bagels are crunchy light and creamy all at the same time. I’m from New Jersey so I’m used to bagels being chewier. These bagels are delicious and I will be back soon! Probably tomorrow!
If you’re in Montreal, St-Viateur Bagel Café is a must-visit!nnTheir bagels are fresh, warm, and perfectly chewy with that slightly sweet, wood-fired flavor you just can’t find anywhere else.nnYou’ve probably seen them all over social media — and yes, they live up to the hype! The café has a cozy, welcoming vibe where you can enjoy your bagels fresh out of the oven.nnTons of options too — from classic sesame and poppy seed to sweet cinnamon raisin.nnThey’re also on Uber Eats, so you can enjoy them at home if you don’t feel like lining up. A true Montreal icon and totally worth the stop or delivery!
Wanted to try the best bagel place in town and reached here. No regrets. A small outlet with a full crowd… thankfully got a small table at the corner and tried their all dressed breakfast sandwich and a normal Sesame bagel toasted with butter… Tasty experience… Their fresh orange juice might not be the best though.nnThey can only take cash or Canadian Debit cards… so please ensure to have some cash on with you.
The food here is definitely overhyped. It's not bad, but it doesn't live up to all the buzz. We've tried several other bagel spots in Montreal that were much better than this one. The staff is friendly and the service is super fast, but be prepared for high prices and a long wait.
My honest review is that this bagel chain is overhyped and not as good as people make it seem online. I came in with high expectations based on everything that’s been said about this spot and I am convinced that people just force themselves to like it. Its really not good or not special. Its extremely bland and every bite is not magical. Its mid at best. You can take this review with a grain of salt but try it and see for yourself if its worth all the hype online. Not to mention we waited like 30 mins to be seated inside. I would SKIP this spot if you’re in Montreal.
