Absolutely loved my experience here! The bagels are what breakfast dreams are made of – fresh, soft bread that’s clearly made with care. But what really elevated it was the cheese spread – it perfectly complemented the bagel’s flavor without overpowering it. You can tell they pay attention to quality ingredients and flavor balance. This is definitely my new go-to spot for bagels. Highly recommend giving them a try!
Great visit to St-Viateur! Note that it’s cash only, but they do accept both USD and CAD. The sesame bagel with cream cheese was excellent, perfectly crunchy on the outside and lighter than typical U.S.-style bagels, making it a great quick bite. The setup is well organized with separate lines for bagel sandwiches and for bulk bagel orders to go, which helps things move efficiently even when it’s busy.
This is a cozy Plateau spot that absolutely deserves its reputation for top‑tier Montreal‑style bagels. The wood‑fired bagels are warm, slightly sweet, perfectly chewy. They offer multiple vegetarian choices as well, the Classic bagel is my favourite. Service is fast and friendly even when it is busy, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it is the kind of place that quickly becomes a go‑to stop every time you are in Montreal.nnNote : Please prepare to stand in the line as there is always a line to go inside, but all worth it.
We visited St-Viateur Bagel & Café Mont-Royal on a Sunday morning and waited about an hour to get a table. They don’t take reservations — it’s first come, first served — so expect a bit of a wait during busy hours.nnThe food, though, was definitely worth trying. There were plenty of bagel options; the steak bagel was outstanding, and the plain one was also really good. The fresh orange juice was a nice touch as well.nnThe service was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience much better despite the long wait. Just a heads-up: it’s cash only, so be prepared!nnIs it worth the wait? Well, I might not be the best judge since I really love food — but if you’re only in Montreal for a short time and the place looks packed, I’d suggest taking it to go or skipping. However, if you have the luxury of time, it’s definitely a nice spot to experience.
We really enjoy the variety of beagles, the foods are prepared at the moment, they have a lot of quality and flavor, the attention of all-personal is excellent. We highly recommend living the experience of a traditional place. Congratulations and thanks.
