If you search for a bagel place where you can sit down, and enjoy your favorite combination of toppings, St Viateur Bagel is a place you should check out! Bagels come fresh out of the oven, service is friendly, and from the tables you can observe the magic happen in the „kitchen“. The bagel was really great, and the perfect start into the day. Prices are a bit higher compared to just picking up the bagels, but they are made with love you can tell, and bagels come with two pieces of lemon - which is awesome really!nPlease be aware: cash payment in Canadian and US dollar, however card payment only in Canadian debit. Luckily I had some US dollars with me.
There are multi locations but this is the best one to go to because they have seating if you want to eat at the establishment!nnWe lucked out and came when there was no line up. The girl at the counter was super nice and helpful. We ordered the fig/ricotta bagel and the salmon/cream cheese one. The salmon one was sooooooo good!! Get it with the rosemary bagel and you won't be disappointed!nnWhen we were done our food a staff member took our trays for us right away, so I was very impressed with how attentive they were.nnThere is super cute merchandise that you can buy here, like hats, sweaters, and a reusable tote. If I had more room in my luggage I would have loved to bring something back!
Lovely atmosphere, tasty bagel! What more can you ask for? The texture of the bagels here, and generally in Montreal, is very different from what we have in Toronto, and I love it here.nWe ordered the traditional bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese, as well as the all seeds bagel and rosemary and sea salt bagel.nnUpdate: We visited here again after our delightful first experience and tried out different bagel sandwiches this time. We also bought some bagels to take home. We ordered the Le Steak, Wow!, and Le Joe Bagel. All were very delicious, with the Le Steak being our favorite.
I tried the bagels here so much that I can't eat bagels sold anywhere else. I couldn't forget the chewy and rich taste, so I bought 9 dozen bagels to take home and give as gifts to my friends. They put the bagels in paper bags, but I had a hard time putting them in plastic bags, but I don't regret it. The warm bagels are so delicious even if you just eat them. If you want to eat in the restaurant, the traditional bagel sandwich is really delicious.
THIS IS A CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT Canadian OR US cash They also take Canadian Debit cards ? - there is some sort of debit card system but not for foreign cards.nnSecondly - if you want bagel sandwiches this is the only location that does it. The original St. Viateur bagel location on Rue St. Viateur DOES not do sandwiches.nnOverall, I thought the bagel was okay - we were told to ask to order whatever was the freshest bagel, for us that was the sesame. It was cool to see them hand rolling the bagels.nnThe bagels are not warm for the sandwiches. I thought the traditional bagel sandwich smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers was alright - honestly felt like the bagel was missing flavoring likely salt.nnThe line outside wasn't too long, maybe took about 20 minutes to get inside and sit and eat. Not terrible. There are two lines outside, the one to the right when facing the door is for takeout bagels ONLY no sandwiches the one on the left is for sandwiches and sitting in the restaurant can also do takeout, but you still need to stand on the line to the left.nnLast note, if you are HUNGRY these bagels are quite light. You can definitely eat more than one if you want to be full.
