Back in 2013, I applied for my first pistol permit in New York state. The staff in the permit office were very knowledgeable and friendly even though they were being overwhelmed with applications due to the recent passed New York Safe Act. Fast forward another 18 months and I finally received my permit. This morning I went in to add a new pistol to my permit and the process was complete in under 5 minutes. It was the same staff of people, and they were just as friendly and helpful as they were when I first met them, and they should keep up the good work.

Just heard the Cheektowaga satellite office is closing. Why ?
It now takes 18 months to have a pistol permit processed.
The law states they have 6 months. but, I know they have found a loophole to get around this but it's just plain wrong. Why are we expected to follow the law when they don't ?
I've been emailing Higgins thru his website but he is a democrat and doesn't care and doesn't support the Constitution of the USA and doesn't respond to his emails..

If you add a pistol to your permit by mail, and don't receive a new copy of your permit card in return with the rest of your paperwork; call them.
This happened to me. The new help must have forgotten to put my permit in the envelope. As well as the empty envelope that they sent to my brother.

The people working this office are a pleasure to be serviced by. NY and Erie county may bethe toughest places to get a gun permit but once you learn the process, it's actually quite easy (providing your record is clear.) the people in this office at VERY knowledgeable, very nice to work with, and will bring you from believing this process to be difficult and cumbersome, to nice, easy, and if anything, maybe even pleasurable!!
Great people working here! I can't say enough good things about them!! Keep up the great work!
