Econo Lodge

A friend and I checked into our reserved room, and upon inspection found a cockroach on the curtains. When I called to report the issue to the front desk, a man informed me they would send someone to the room. About ten minutes later, the office called our room, and the woman who checked us in requested that we come to the office so they can assign us a different room. I denied this offer, since one cockroach is likely a sign of more, and I let them know we would be checking out. As my friend and I packed the car to leave, two male employees stood outside the office and watched us the whole time. It was uncomfortable. I reported the concern to Hotels.com, and they sent me a follow up email stating they could not help with a refund.nnAside from the cockroach, I also found grime and stains on the walls, light fixtures and cigarette burns in one of the comforters. I will be reporting the Econo Lodge in Cortland to the county health department. This hotel is unsanitary, uncomfortable and unhelpful to their guests.

Staff quiet but respectful. Pretty clean. In need of a good amount of TLC. What I expected from the price $125/night.nAnd supposedly they do a discount if you want to rent weekly if you pay cash. $500/week cash, $625 card

Do not stay here unless desperate. Bedbug heaven. Look for other places, not worth the stay, not worth the bedbug bites. The non-smoking rooms all have a scent of cigarettes and the management refused to help after we informed them of the bedbugs, though we didn't inform before we checked out since bed bug bites take a while to appear.nnManagement can also be very rude. I feel bad booking my family here.

Completely unhelpful and argumentative staff, their solution to answering questions is to cancel your reservation. They will interpret you and answer every question no matter how small with “can’t help you”, we were lied about no other staff being present to be able to talk to despite there being multiple, as well as refusal of services listed on their website. Never go here you’ll be stranded with no where to go.

We had an unexpected flat tire on the highway late in the evening. A police officer and a tow truck came to assist us, and I asked the tow truck driver to take us to this hotel so we could figure things out. I left my mother, sister, and younger brother in the hotel lobby and spoke with the man at the front desk an Indian gentleman. I politely asked if it would be okay for my family to sit in the lobby for a short while until I returned, as I had to go with the tow truck driver to drop off my car at his repair shop due to no available parking at the hotel for the truck.nnTo my shock, just five minutes after I left, the receptionist approached my mother and told her that if we weren’t going to book a room immediately, they could only sit there for 10 minutes. It was around 10 PM, we were stranded in a city we didn’t know, with nowhere else to go, and my mother and siblings were simply waiting for me to come back. She called me in distress, and I had to return to pick them up and leave the hotel.nnI will not tell anyone how to feel about this. But I do want people to know what kind of response we received when we were in a vulnerable situation, just looking for a bit of kindness and shelter while sorting out a car emergency. We were not loitering. We were not causing any disruption. We were a tired, stressed-out family looking for a room, trying to handle an unfortunate situation.nnI’ll leave it to others to decide what kind of hospitality this is, and whether this is a place they’d want to trust during an emergency. In our experience, it was cold, heartless, and frankly, shocking.
