FOR ANYONE WRITING A G1 KNOWLEDGE TEST: Lineups start well before the centre opens. Be sure to be at this location by 6 AM if you expect to get your test done before noon. Service inside the centre is extremely poor, as only two kiosks remain open, despite there visibly being 5-6 staff doing nothing inside. Signs around the centre state that no threats and violence will be tolerated, leading to refusal of service. Yet, many of the staff are quite rude and refuse to treat customers as humans. Will refuse couples from sitting together, and will happily yell at customers who struggle with English. Don't expect to find a seat. COVID protocols seem fairly stringent, and you may get lucky with a staff member who's not in a bad mood. Your best bet is to come with a family member and have them tag in and out with you as you use the bathroom in the nearby Starbucks. Test is completed on touchscreen monitors so be sure to wash your hands after. Questions from online tests ex: G1.ca are sufficient. Software lets you know if you got a question correct/incorrect as you progress through the test, so you know whether you passed or not.
Today I passed my G1 exam from here. Every single person who are working there was so helpful. Just one thing keep in mind, if you don’t want to stay whole day in line you should come early morning between 6am to 6:30am. I reached there at 6am sharp and I was the no 4 in the line. After 1.5 hours I found 100 people behind me .. So be the early bird if you want to come back home quickly.
Had a pleasant experience inside the Drive test center. Visited this place on a chilly snowy day with a temperature as low as -16, wore three layers of cotton trousers including thermal pants which weren't enough to stand outside in the weather, it's better to wear high quality winter clothing. I was at the location by 7:30 on a Saturday with around 25 people before me and was able to get in by 8:50 and exchanged my out of province license with a temporary one and came outside by 9:15. If you want to get things done quickly better come at least 1 hour before the opening time or else after 8:30 the line will have at least 70-100 people before you. Get all the documents required upfront else you will be turned away. To exchange other Canadian licenses you will need an original license, passport and a drivers license abstract saw that not every one requests it, I wasn't asked about it but few people at the different counter were turned away because of that.
RUN AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN!!! I wish I could give a negative five-star rating. G1 tests have an average waiting period of more than 5 HOURS TO BE SERVED!!! I arrived at 8:30 a.m. Friday, but it wasn't until 13:30 that I was able to see the staff's face. If you insist on coming here by yourself, bring plenty of water, food, and a POWER BANK because you will be standing in the sun for an eternity.
I could give 0 rating if it was possible. Poor management, no regulations. People are not dumb, seeing staff chatting inside rather than answering concerns of customers. I couldn’t enter inside because of rushing hours visit and end up coming back Some suggestions for the management: 1. There should be an appointment policy to make sure how long it will take for customer’s turn. 2. I don’t demand for any sitting arrangement but there should be some service for people with back or some other health conditions. 3. Way too long hours for waiting only in queue. To combat this, online services should be accessible. 4. More staff should be recruited. I hope this help. Lastly, I do not think somebody investigate these concerns or maybe just ignored. Who knows ‍ Suggestions for customers Do not hesitate to bring your own chair, food, drink.
Not sure why such low ratings. I really had a pleasant experience at this center. The staff is extremely friendly and warm. The only frustration test takers are having is a long wait time. But the wait time is the same in all other Drive test locations and the same in the USA that I have known from my friends. When you have something on offer first come first serve you should expect a long wait time. If you want to finish early visit the centre during summers around 5:45. I visited twice as I failed my first attempt of G1 test on a Saturday, I took a retest on Monday and cleared it. The re-tests are not allowed on Saturday. You can take a retest on weekdays. Both the days I visited at 5:45 am and on Saturday I was 6th in line on Monday I was 11th in line. Saturday gates opened at 8:30 and I saw almost 200 people behind me. On weekdays the gates open at 7 AM and I could see almost 50-60 people behind me. It was less crowded on Monday. Wishing all the best to the test takers.
I am not sure about so much of negative ratings. I got there at 6:30 am on Monday and there were like 35 people ahead in the line. Facility opened by 7 am and the receptionist was quick to receive all. I got my eye test, Indian driving license extract accepted and completed knowledge test by 8:30 am. Overall, it took 2 hours only. Great service.
Before you come, just know you will always be waiting outside in a long line. So dress accordingly. They have 11 stalls where they could staff 11 employees. I waited outside for 1 hour, got inside at 8am. They only staffed 3x employees!! It's really upsetting. Extremely frustrating. It's quite pathetic. If I could give it Zero stars I wouldnt hesitate. This photo was takes at 6:57AM and a big line up already.
Went for my knowledge test. Arrived at 6:15 am on a Friday, and there were already about 30 people in line. Once they opened at 7am, I was able to go in and secure a seat to wait for my turn. It was about an hour before they called me. The process was fairly simple. Bring an ID with a signature a passport is the best option. I had a licence from another country and a driving record both documents must be translated with an ATIO translator. I was able to apply for a full G licence with my previous driving experience. A simple eye test, paying the fee, filling out some forms, and you’re good to go for the knowledge test, which you can take on the spot if you’re ready. Walked out of the center at 8:30 am. Process took about 1.5 hours + 1 hr wait before the center opened.
Either you go at opening time or not at all. I came at 10:30am and waited for like 7hours 5pm to get my ticket called. I even had to skip my afternoon work to get my license. They have like 10 kiosks but only 2 are open and working, and thousands of customers waiting. Tellers are either walking around or busy chatting with coworkers. Not sure if this is same for all locations. If not, go there and never to this place.
