Delicious! Great food! Great service! A great selection of sandwiches for a business lunch. Thanks to Paulette for the extra attention and advice for choosing a variety of gluten free and vegan options..and carry out! Will definitely use Denningers again!
Totally love this store. The meat, the deli and the cheeses are the best around. The store is well organized. Just wish it were closer to home.
My first time experience was very pleasant. My group purchased items for a BBQ dinner and we loved the varieties of beef patties we purchased one of them had a mushrooms and cheese mixture and I LOVED IT. My second time I made a visit and we didn't realize we were arriving close to closing time 4pm on a weekend. What I didn't expect was the employees running to lock the door before we got to it. I brushed it off because again, it was close to closing time. My most recent visit was today and most of the employees were MISERABLE, frowning, unhappy and it was noticeable all over their faces. My partner went to the hot food section and ordered a meatloaf dinner, the female employee behind the counter replied " I don't have it" in a miserable tone and stood there and stared at him with no suggestion as to what they DO have at that moment. So he was caught off guard and he asked if they had the schnitzel dinner. She began making our food while I shopped around at the frozen food section. When we went to cash out our cashier greeted us and I was looking at the screen to make sure the items was was purchasing were ringing up correctly. When I noticed the 2 cheese breadsticks 2 in 1 bag rang up more than what I thought. I asked if that was right cause the sign said 1.98 or something. The cashier said "no.. its for each and it's been that way forever". Me not knowing that, assumed 2 breadsticks in the same bag would be counted as 1. I wanted to no longer purchase that because I find that kind of silly and confusing as a customer. My partner just told me to buy it and not make a fuss. When we both got in our vehicle he was the one who asked me of the workers in there seemed miserable or if it was just him. So I'm not the only one who noticed this. Not sure if I'll be back at this location, it is out of our way to go here and there are other friendlier local places in Hamilton that are happy to have people walk in their stores to spend their money.
Since we are trying to eat Healthy we buy plant based burgers etc. a lot. We bought your Beet Burgers recently. They would not cook properly, just feel apart, never had that experience with other burgers we have bought. Will not be buying these again.
Learning the store products. Ready made meals, ready made meats, condiments and potato salads. Trying pork cordon bleu and a small potato salad a twelve dollar meal for two.
I am pretty local and have been getting the sausage with kraft regularly. Tried a few other items but unfortunately can't order what they put out because they have no idea how to explain what oils they are using per health expectations. If you serve lasagne and say it has milk in it, I already know that. Many people want to avoid heartburn so they can't order foods with GMOed canola, soy, sunflower etc. If you guys want to learn about serving foods with full disclosure on ingredients, you probably can. It is 2022 so I just know they don't really do too much with customers stomach in mind. Typically, the other customers who come in are square heads who look like they don't care about their health anyways. Looks like I will stick to making my own brats from Costco from now on unless they can do better here.
The variety of food and the quality of the products are never in question, but their customer service certainly leaves a lot to be desired. We were there at 11:00 in the morning during the week and were literally the only customers in the store the whole time we shopped. No one said hello, the cashier made no effort to return my greeting. There were four people on the floor restocking and moving things around while we were browsing, and yet when I went to find one to ask them a question, they had mysteriously disappeared. Even trying to make a conversation with the cashier was an effort in futility. I'm a cashier in a big box store and honestly if I treated a customer like that and my management saw it, I would definitely get talked to. You cannot afford to treat customers with ignorance, especially when they are trying to be nice to you. I know what it's like and I was just trying to be as pleasant as possible. After traveling almost 100 km to get there and spending over $150, you would think a little eye contact and perhaps a "thank you and have a nice day" would have been in order. If my elderly mother didn't love their turkey pot pie so much, this place would never get my business again.
Part of my usual grocery run, love the lasagna and honestly miss the bistro! Happy they still put out a few items here or there, I always try to snatch them up when I see them. Plus all the employees are very nice and down to earth, great place
Terrible Customer Service by a cashier. Came in to make a few purchases. I asked to use the facilities and asked the Cashier #570 transaction number 82614024149 for the washroom key. This cashier proceeded to tell me that she was busy cashing someone else and had to serve the next customer before she could hand me the key. I literally stood there In astonishment with her reply.. I was never so humiliated to be be told I couldn’t use the facilities in front of paying customers. This cashier had the nerve to flag me down by yelling to me and dangling the key that I could use the washroom…I quickly made my purchases from this store and reluctantly and left..!!!
Try their garlic westfaeler!! Best sausage you will ever have! Soups and sweets as well. Baked goods and all the European treats you know and love. Great food ready to eat. The big Rudy is amazing.
