Nice thrift shop. Bright and clean.nMark up for Plant pots can lower for better sales, eg. $1 each. One pot fr dollarama is 4 n marked up 5!
Great thrift shop to check out! Prices are reasonable and wayyy better than Value Village. Good quality items and stores are very well maintained. Check out their Christmas store for this season. Many items to choose from, plus they have those weekly deals.
I have been shopping at this thrift store for many years. I have always loved the comaraderie and light hearted attitude of the volunteers in the stores. I have noticed a change in the last 4 months particularly, where nice items are now priced separately at much higher prices and volunteers are more uptight. They used to have a collectable sale every couple of months where items would be priced higher but this is different. I hate seeing the attitude change and the prices go the way of value village. At least at value village you can exchange items that don't fit - not at this thrift shop. The advantage of low prices is great turnover in product and helping the community - it would be sad to see this disappear.
My mother-in-law and our family have been residents of Ladner for many years. During this time, I’ve listened to her share both the good and the bad from her experience volunteering at the thrift store. I’m keeping her anonymous due to the culture and grouping that can occur among volunteers.nnShe continues to show up for the mission, even when she feels a lack of appreciation and has been made to feel “stupid,” as many volunteers are aware of the coordinator’s tone and language. While I’ve encouraged her to find another way to give back and have a place for connection, she is committed to supporting healthcare because of the many visits and hospital stays she and my husband have had at Delta Hospital, and how fortunate we are to have it so close.nnLast Sunday, I used the thrift shop parking lot while visiting nearby shops, and when I returned, I was very concerned by what I heard coming from inside. The tone and language were loud enough to be heard outside. It raised real concern for the volunteers inside, including my mother-in-law, continuing in that environment.nnShe has also shared the changes the organization is making to support the Auxiliary and the hospital, which I fully support. It’s reassuring to see efforts to protect something so important to the community. However, there has been growing chatter in the community, including within my own networks, about disrespectful and almost bullying behavior toward certain individuals.nnI would like reassurance that steps are being taken to address this not only for my mother-in-law’s well-being, but because it’s unacceptable for such a valued organization to tolerate this behaviour and represent our community this waynn----- Concerned resident, donor and customer
Please note that I have been informed that this thrift store is closed due to the board and director creating a bad working environment for the volunteers. I refuse to support a place like thisnA brief background. I am a personal shopper who shops for clients who don’t have the patience to thrift but wants to be environmentally friendly. This store used to be good to find some amazing gems but lately it’s been pure overpriced junk. I was there yesterday and this lady called carole kept pulling things from the store and saying they should be priced up more how unprofessional this is to be doing in front of customers. Also I saw a zara jacket at $32.00 and a pair of zara shoes at $18.50. This place is becoming worst than the value village with their prices.
