David Keeling Fine Jewellery

Went to David Keeling after a terrible experience at another place. The engagement ring was from a different store, and David had no difficulties creating two matching wedding bands to fit my vision to go around my solitaire ring. After about a year and a half, he also fused all 3 pieces together for me. I just love the piece. He responds very quickly to emails, and also takes e-transfer for payment (very modern/convenient!)

Reasonable overall experience. David kind of has an "I'm abrasive but I'm good so deal with it" personality, which to be honest I appreciated because it's more about the final product than the sales pitch. That being said it was also uncomfortable, I didn't always feel like I could ask questions without accidentally offending him, or him taking it the wrong way. So beware of personality in your dealings. I'm sure his work his excellent. He has among the most beautiful sapphires I saw in Edmonton. We didn't end up going with him because we found a stone/design we liked somewhere else, no fault of his own. He did his best to bring in a stone that met my specs for me to take a look at, and it was quite nice. When I told him we were going elsewhere, he offered his "objective" opinion on their work, which involved insulting the other company based on rhodium plating, and when I let him know the pieces were not going to be rhodium plated he did not reply. He does charge a $1000 deposit before you can start dealing with him. It is fully refundable though. I did get mine back, but it took a 4 weeks of reminding. Given the large sum, it would have been nice if he was quicker about this. No apology either, at any point, for the delay. While we didn't get the e-ring from him, I was planning to use him for other pieces in the future, but now I'm not sure sure.

5 star no question. My husband and I found David Keeling Fine Jewellery after shopping around various jewellery stores. We wanted to design the engagement ring ourselves and wanted it to be unique and beautiful with our input. We used a saphire as well as diamonds rather than many rings that only include diamonds. He helped us pick out stones and though we gave him an idea of a basic design he helped give us more ideas to make it perfect. We worked with different price options and were not pressured one way or another. I am so grateful for my beautiful ring and both of our wedding bands which matched. Fantastic customer service and quality product. He and his staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy! Thank you!

This review should have been written 7 years ago in 2008 when my then girlfriend (now wife) were getting married and decided to get something very unique for an engagement/wedding ring. We discovered David's website and were immediately impressed with one particular piece in his portfolio. We later found out that it was a bracelet but were interested in getting something similar as a ring. The design process was great. David really understood what my wife was looking for and completely came through. The price was very reasonable for the amount of time David put into the ring and it turned out to be perfect. At the time, David let us know that we could have our rings polished at no charge. Sadly, I didn't take advantage of this service for 7 years when I took my wife's ring in for a minor repair. David repaired my wife's ring in less than 24 hours after I had dropped it off. He also polished both our rings making them look absolutely stunning. He didn't even charge for the repair. I can't say how wonderful the service David provides is. His work is top notch and the service after the fact is phenomenal. Thank you David.
