Dave has been fixing my bike for 20 years, from a simple loose screw to a new brakes or whatever is needed. He always has time for people and he has an open heart for all his clients. Including Spanish people!
Dave’s fixed both our bikes promptly and professionally. Giving me updates and options along to the way to make sure our old bikes were ready for for use again. He was welcoming and wanted to do the best he could without going over budget. Dave is honest and with all the parts shortages right now made sure we weren’t without our bike for too long.
Dave...Fix my bike! has been my go to bike repair shop & air fill station for many years. He's been a staple in the neighbourhood for local cyclists. Dave is always accommodating and helpful. His pricing is competitive, supporting my local businesses and shop keepers is worth the cost of shopping local.
WARNING: the bad reviews are LIARS trying to cancel him for political reasons. Dave is a kind man and has been fixing my bike since I was a young kid including technical mountain bikes. His skill and experience is outstanding. Don’t fall for the ideological totalitarian attempts to shutdown small business for divergences of thought without prejudice. Dave Fix My Bike is a last remaining legacy of a dying gentrifying Toronto community.
If you want to save time and money, avoid this bike shop The guy kept my bike for two weeks, charged me 200$ and "did nothing" The rear brakes were not working well, sticky front derailleur and bent rear wheel. I end up adjusting the derailleur my self, the brakes and the wheel were fixed for 50$ in another bike shop
Brought my bike into for a tune up and to be fixed. Dave was thorough. Riding has been noticeably smooth since getting the bike back.
Edit: it was $20 for the labour + new tire purchased $48 so I paid $68. I keep track of my spending with details so it is correct. Especially when dealing wth the business that has cash only policy and won't provide customer receipt. When i write reviews I don't make stuff up. It still won't make sense even if it were $25 for a flat tire when I drop off only wheel sets because in my second last visit I brought in not just wheels but the entire bike. I understand the owner has the flexibility rating his own service but no need to dispute stated facts. Leaving a lengthy review here regarding my experience hoping it'll help someone, anyone in the future: Dropped in with only the wheels and new tires for tire replacement, which was charged $20 for the serviceonly the labour. When he quoted $20, I asked if he was gonna charge extra if I brought the frame with me so he can put the wheels back on. He said that's another $10 as he charges $30 for a flat tire. $30 for a flat on a road bike. Truth is, I had used this shop for that exact same service and was charged $20 for labour +43 for the new tire. So the price went up by $10 over two months of period? I had this question but didn't bother to mention that. I can put my bike back together by myself just fine and wanted the job done so paid whatever amount. Here's the real problem. BOTH tubes came back damaged and then patched, NOT replaced while they originally had been undamaged. What’s even worse- one of them went FLAT overnight. I didn't ride after the service at all so obviously it wasn't my fault. When I was picking up my stuff, he did mention the "patching" very briefly but I didn't realize he meant he actually had to patch the tubes because he hurt them while doing the work. The other one that isn't flat, I found out it's got a patch on it because I had to put the old tire back on for a reason. So that's how I found out both tubes had been damaged at the shop. Can't believe I had to pay for such an unprofessional job. I could've gone back to bring up the problem and see if he'd fix the mistake free of charge but, considering my previous experience, I had doubts he would so decided not to. I ended up getting the work redone at another shop in the area for $20 for both service and a new tube. The owner wasn't rude or anything and I believe he's a decent person. But this shop seems to have questionable ways of running the business. Inconstant pricing more like, unreasonable and the cash only policy. I wanted to keep going back there just because it's literally one step away from my house but if I can walk for just ten minutes, there's a few other and possibly better options available.
My friend who is a bit insecure about his English asked me to go with him to the bike shop around the corner so I could help him explain what happened to his bike and what he needs. The man who talked to us I believe his name is Dave was suddenly and needlessly rude to me while trying to explain what my friend meant. He made me feel unwelcome and intimidated by telling me he doesn’t wanna talk me but the bike owner which is my friend and ask me to stay away, he said my friend didn’t need me and I shouldn’t be talking to him with a very aggressive and derogative tone of voice. I decided to wait for my friend 1 block away since I was basically kicked out. My friend didn’t really understand what happened, after he came back to me he told me everything was too fast for him. I’m brown skin Hispanic and I can’t think of any other reason why someone would treat me like that but maybe my ethnicity. Beware guys!
Dave is the best. He’s priced right and is well experienced in his trade. I highly recommend you go here for any of your bike needs!
I took my bike there for a quick repair. A very kind gentleman fixed it quickly and charged me very fairly. I surely suggest you to go there if you are looking to get your bike fixed quickly with fair prices
