We have made a habit to go here at least once a year. It was an amazing experience every time, however, this year it was different. You have to buy tickets in advance, as there is limited number of tickets. I would like to know what is that number because the place was PACKED. I have no idea how everyone managed to find a place to sit. At some slides, the waiting time was 45 minutes! At others, half and hour. And as that's wasn't enough, they sold twilight tickets as well. So, due to that many people, everything is dirty and contaminated. I was so disappointed this year. Hope next will be better. I am not giving less stars, because, as I said, all was well up to now.
Cultus lake is nice and the water park is quite dated, but still nice for a hot day for kids to hang out. There were a lot of people with there regular clothes and not swimming outfit on the pools and the hot tubs which was not appealing and not hygienic at all. The concession had about 7 young people working there who couldn’t manage a simple transaction. Maybe this is due to the shortage of working force in BC, but probably with a bit of training and maybe reducing staff and just putting two trained staff the place would run better. All in all you can try the place once and decide for your self if it is great or not, but I’ve seen many better water parks before. We didn’t try the adventure park.
The park is a lot of fun, I recommend arriving early to better enjoy the attractions, we bring our own food and only buy drinks there, I recommend renting a cabin only if you go as a family, I only went with my boyfriend so we rented an umbrella and sat in the grass. It's super safe, we left our things and nothing happened, of course we went to check from time to time. Overall it was fun and we enjoyed the stay. for people who go by bus, you have to make sure you leave with plenty of time, there is a bus where you have to stop for 5 CAD and another where you pay 2 CAD. make sure you keep the ticket that they give you when you pay the 2 CAD as that can help you return without paying again. The last bus that goes to the park is quite late, we had a problem with that one and we had to walk and on the way back we took a taxi for fear of missing the next buses.
Cultus has expanded. There was a lineup on the weekend 25 min before opening but we were still able to secure seating under a cover. I suggest bringing your own chairs as the benches get quite uncomfortable. Great for all ages! Lost a star as they have no adult non-riding ticket option.
Honest review: it was so much fun. I did lose my rx sunglasses on Radical Rapids and also my 12 yo daughters knee hit me right on the head on the same ride. Otherwise it was a blast. The lines are not that bad really. We ended up walking about 10+ kms during the day, which was tough on my bare feet. Wear flippy floppies or water shoes and leave them at the bottom of the rides. The food is kind of meh so bring food with you. Prep for the whole day as there is no in and out privileges. Well worth the money. We will be back. Colossal Canyon is a must. Everything is fun.
We had so much fun there! Definitely worth to drive 1hr30mins in the hot summer. There is also an adventure park cross the street, but we don’t have time to visit this time. If you plan to come, you can find so many things to do there for a 2-3day vacation.
Honestly one of the best places we have been to with our kids. We spent a whole day there and we all had fun!
We had a vip cabana #9 right in the front which was nice for the shade & close to the washroom. Line ups are long wait times for the slides. However .. on hot days .. your feet burn on the linoleum pathways .. wear watershoes FOR SURE. *Learned my lesson the hard way. **Do NOT buy the hot dogs .. total rip off !! And tastes horrible .. bring your own .. just don't buy theirs.
The waterpark can get quite busy on sunny weekends. Depending on the popularity of the rides you’d need to wait 5-30 mins for each ride. The Boomerang had the longest line when we visited there and the Bazooka Bowls and the Free Fall had the shortest wait time. The scariest one was the Valley of Fear in my opinion and then the Free Fall. Overall it was a good experience but I’d be a lot more comfortable if people weren’t getting into the pools with regular clothes because it’s not hygienic at all.
Great place with tons of awesome slides, pools and spray areas. All kids of all ages love it here and everyone is happy all day. Attentive life guards. The only thing that really threw us for a loop was a self serve buffet bar for burger toppings. Not covid friendly in the least. So we ordered fries and chicken strips and left it at that!
