If you like more private and quiet space this is not your place. The tenting area and RV area are separate, but if you need to tent and they are out of tenting sites you can still book to tent in one of the RV sites. Make sure you don’t book a double site instead of one which is big enough. They almost made that mistake with me. But friendly helpful staff.
The camp grounds it's self were clean and it's in a great location on the river. However the bathrooms weren't clean, hair all over the showers and the sinks and it was obvious no one had cleaned it one day to the next. They allow dogs which is great but they charge $10/head/night and if you have a second vihical it's another $15/night even though it fit in the same spot as our camping unit. The wifi was hit and miss and we were close to the office. It felt safe to stay there though
This was my first camping experience EVER, and likely my last. I felt like I was sleeping in a parking lot. There was no privacy at all. Nothing at all like I had imagined. The camping spots were not amongst the trees at all. The washrooms were HORRENDOUS. There were live and dead bugs everywhere and even after the morning cleaning, there was no difference. I was scared to have water because I didn't want to go to the washroom later. The last straw for me was seeing people gut thier daily fish catch at the communal sink where others washed their dishes and kids got water. This place has ruined camping for me forever.
The campsite is actually great. It feels very safe, and it’s actually close to the vedder river and the sites are great for big tents. It’s very quiet and pleasant. Showers are fairly close to the campsites. The only shortcoming are the bathrooms!! They are somewhat dirty, toilets are extremely narrow and very uncomfortable.
This place is awesome for camping. The only setback was one of their front office staff going over the top about rules and regulations about how to approach the office. Very unprofessional and very unwelcome. Their signage is set too far forward for anyone to understand how both sides of the office work and then they get upset when you don't adhere to the rules of parking to see them. Rude and obnoxious come to mind. The other lady was amazing and took my info and told me how it worked while we both listened to the other woman chastise more people coming in....lol
My favorite campground!! My 8yo son and I have been multiple times since stumbling across it when the Rock & Gem festival was in town. It's an amazing location right by the river. We loved traipsing across the rocks and sitting by the water while the sun set. Huge bonus to have the trails running alongside the campground too. Bring your bikes and running shoes! The playground needs an update, but it does the job. Awesome to see all the kids playing until sundown. There are 2 sets of washrooms and showers, positioned centrally, although the more accessible ones are further into the park. The other amazing thing is how close Cultus Lake is...we would go swim for 2hrs since parking is expensive then go get shaved ice from Huis. Great outing for the family! Playground: It's something, but needs some updates.
Night staff beyond rude. If you’d like to be treated as though in jail or daycare…my all means camp here. Scenery beautiful, nice trails but that’s it. Expect to be crammed in like sardines, locked OUT of the gate if you stay out past 10pm or risk tire punctures, AND don’t even think about having a shower after 10 pm or before 8am because that would be a ridiculous amenity to offer. They’ll give you a code to the bathrooms/shower house but they turn off the hot water after 10. Poor stay. Won’t be back. Avoid this place if you don’t want to be treated like a child. And good for thought Vedder River Campground; people have emergencies in the night that could require the use of a vehicle in and out after 10pm; drugstore runs for painkillers or heaven forbid medical emergency requiring EMS to enter.
If I could leave a 0 star review I would. No enforcement of their own rules. Quiet time starts at 10 and we were kept awake until 1am by children running around screaming. Campsite was positioned under a light that did not shut off and kept our tent illuminated all night. Certainly felt quite packed with little to no privacy. . Just awful experience.
Location was awesome, not too far from Cultus Lake Waterslides. The Vedder River was also really nice to dip in during the day. Would have been nice if the sites had a little more privacy, but was a fair price for the most part.
Location is very nice, close to water and not too far from big name stores should you need to buy anything to replenish. The staff are generally friendly and nice as well. Last year and this year both, I was extremely dissatisfied with the washroom and the toilets. The toilet was not flushing, and the one shower was broken. There was no water coming in the shower after 7pm and the explanation given to us was “too many people using water”, really? I recall a mom wanted to wash her baby at around 8pm on Saturday night and she could not. On Sunday morning when the mom returned the shower was still not working. Last year the water stopped coming after around 7:30pm as well. People need to shower and clean. Have the infrastructure to accommodate all your guests. People came from Alberta and other far places. You are charging customers money so you should step up and provide the service. It was bad, really bad. Seemed like I was in a third world country seriously. Can you imagine not able to shower your baby for over 1 day. This is a serious health issue. When enough people made some noise, the park ranger went in a room and turned on some switches and water again started coming. Hey, I don’t mind paying a $1.00 for like 15 minutes of shower time. This will also reduce any abuse of water use. Last year I was told this will be fixed over the wintertime and nothing got fixed. The toilets also need to get cleaned more frequently. It seems the shower and toilet situation are getting worse and worse every year. Get it fixed or you will lose lots of customers and the bad word of mouth advertisement will be not good for business.
