Crunch - West Hamilton

Like any gym, this place isn’t without its flaws, however, the environment is extremely welcoming every morning when I go. The front desk worker in the mornings, Glenna, is incredibly kind. She works hard to foster a strong sense of community, which I haven’t experienced at any other gym.

Ridiculous policies at this gym. Try to cancel my membership for 3 months and they wouldn't let me unless I came in person. I informed them I had moved and didn't live near there and was canceling the membership with the bank. They continued to charge my account and wouldn't honor the closing of the account, despite a written letter.nThe bank reimbursed me for all charges due to my record of a paper trail of cancelled membership.nAny gym that makes it next to impossible to cancel your membership is not a good gym.nAlso the stuff I dealt with worms very good at customer service.

Chef Colin, personal trainer extraordinaire! Been working with Colin 6 months and the difference in how I look, how I feel, and my strength is crazy. He pushes me when I need him to but always seems to realize when I have nothing left to give without making me feel bad about it. He gives the right amount of push with a great mix of easy going nature.nAs the months have progressed I’ve wanted to add different accomplishments and abilities and he’s added elements to help in the areas I want to focus on while still helping me to build overall strength. He’s communicative and has been patient and flexible with my ridiculously unpredictable schedule.nNothing but love for Colin and if you’re looking for a personal trainer, you’d get a good one in him.

I’ve been a member about 3 times in 10 years here. I cancelled my anytime fitness due to paying $60 monthly it became too much. I went with a friend to this gym because I was gonna re sign up again because you can’t beat the price and I can walk from my apartment. This gym has gone SO downhill with the quality it’s insane and I cannot get the confidence to sign up here again. Machines squeek loud af now upstairs, they took away the water bottle dispenser from when I was last here and replaced it with a $5 monthly unlimited Gatorade dispenser… horrible idea and now you have to go upstairs to use the little water spout. They also can’t even afford to pay and fix the heavily broken cracked stair entrance which is dangerous for customers. Gym is so humid and smells disgusting it used to have a nice cold and clean smell to it because staff were constantly cleaning machines and floors etc. idk wtf happen to this place but it’s disgusting now. I will only come here as a guest with my boyfriend to get a quick workout and leave.

I'm from the Brantford location but I've been visiting west Hamilton since its the only crunch with a sick weightlifting room, but gym itself needs work but I hear renovations are coming so that exciting! But really what makes my experience every time is Leo the PT. Dudes always there and is strong as heck and massive lol gives amazing tips and looks out for the safety of others and the gym. Watched a dude swinging sticks around which I thought was super dangerous and weird to see at a gym, and Leo brought an end to that and almost got hit by the guy after I brought it up how uncomfortable it made me. Overall great experience just needs those renovations!
