Crooners is a lovely place. I went to listen to Maud Hixson on a Saturday night in the lounge. Maud is amazing and has a beautiful voice. Drinks were fine. I had ordered the crispy which came ala mode, there were a mix of fruit and crunchy toppings but nothing to write home about. The lounge is intimate but not ideal for listening, even though rules for listening does state to keep talking to a minimum, it was too loud as expected since the lounge sits at the entrance.
Crooner’s supper club is a great place to go for tasty food, great live music and yummy cocktails! There is plenty of free parking, when Crooner’s lot is full, the strip mall’s empty parking lot adjacent to theirs has plenty of space. We went there on a Friday night to see The Randy Newman Songbook with Prudence Johnson and Dan Chouinard. So excellent. My favorite part was pointing at the “no side conversations” when my hubby tried to talk about Newman his fav musician during their performance. Thank you Crooners! Serving staff were friendly and attentive. The Dunsmore Jazz Room is an awesome place to see/hear live music, small and intimate.
Could definitely see coming back, maybe for a different show, although my wife LOVED the Bing Crosby tribute show by Arne Fogel. Overall a very pleasant experience - good service, mostly really good food, with a few "misses", but all in all an experience we very well may be back for. Specifics on the food: - fries were cold, but the Reuben it came with was incredible. Walleye dinner was fantastic. The cream sauce was mostly flavorless but a little salt and lemon juice solved that. Green beans were a buttery goodness cooked el denté to perfection. The wild rice, while very good, was also mostly cold. Still would recommend both meals. Also, the bruschetta pronounced broo-SKETTA, btw was very good. What was the most astonishing was the amount of wine in our glasses. First, they were the smallest wine glasses ever, and it was the least amount of wine I've ever been served. For $13. We all know every restaurant and bar has mastered the up-charging racquet of liquor, but wow. This was really something else. Don't order wine here. Side note: there's a strict no dancing and "no side conversations" rule during shows. I get the no dancing thing; that can be obnoxious, distracting and disruptive. And talking during a show can also be those things, but that's not the intent of this rule. Sorry, I'm out to dinner with my wife, live music or not, I'm going to respectfully have a conversation with my wife. All that long winded novel said, we will likely be back. Just go into your visit with the right expectations and I trust you will be pleased.
Had a great time here with friends. Had an intimate evening in The Dunsmore Jazz Room. Our server, Sally, was awesome, and the food and drinks were delicious. The Dennis Carlson's piano playing was superb, and singer Dennis Spears vocals were amazing. Would definitely recommend a show here.
Always a great time. We love live music and dining out doors. Highly recommended for an evening out!
The is a wonderful live music venue. I'm so glad that live music is come back. "Real music by real musicians for real music lovers..." The food is great and the service is wonderful... pleasant.
We went to the Sinatra show and it was really amazing. Singer actually sounded just like Sinatra only better and orchestra was wonderful. The food was delicious I'd skip the appetizers as the were skimpy portions and not very good but meal was huge portion and delicious. Highly recommend the walleye. Very nice experience and I would/will go back.
This place is a quaint and charming place that takes you back into history the moment you walk in. They have multiple rooms for dinner and music performances. One of these rooms is an outdoor venue with tent walls. They pack everyone in tightly. If you were hoping to reserve a table with some privacy, this is not the place for you. Dress warm if you're attending when the evenings cool down because they have very few heaters and you will be cold. The food was incredible. However due to being outside, must eat quick or it will get cold fast. Don't plan on getting any service after the initial contact. We paid for VIP and all that did was get us closer to the front of the room. Our server didn't return to clear plates or take drink orders for at least an hour and then had only come once the whole time we were there. The performance was amazing but definitely would only return for a performance indoors if that seating is a bit more typical of most other dinner spots.
This was a very nice place to have dinner and see a live performance close to home. We came for our anniversary and it was a very entertaining evening! Recommend the Kate Beahen and friends show for sure! She's a middle school teacher during the day and a Broadway singer at night the theme for the night was Broadway songs!. I asked my husband if we could make this a more regular thing! Oh, and the food was delicious! I got the pork chop with garlic mashed potatoes and veggies happened to be green beans this time and it was juicy and delicious! Also, we got cheesecake with chocolate sauce and it was perfect to share after a great show and dinner!
We heard R-Factor sing A Michael Jackson Family Tribute. They don't disappoint. I enjoy the supper club atmosphere & nostalgia.
