Courtyard by Marriott St. John's Newfoundland

I'll start by saying I'm tired and not feeling 100%, so maybe my rating is a bit harsh. I decided to stay in and ordered room service for dinner. Ordered the chicken pad Thai. Over 40 minnutes later I call back only to find out the waitress was so busy that she forgot to put it in. She was apologetic however I do expect my food to come when I order. When she brought it up first thing she said was please don't be mad. That's probably not the best way to start. She did bring ice cream however I don't like ice cream especially chocolate, so I put it out not eaten. Would have been nice if they asked me first if they can add a dessert. Back to pad Thai, no chickens to be found and it was greasy. I won't be offering food here again. Then I noticed there's no water. As a Gold elite member any Marriott Hotel chains I go to there's two bottles in the room always. Well here they are more than happy to charge you for it. Needless to say it's the little things that keep me coming back to Marriott but this time it was a big miss. I'll not be staying at this Marriott next time. On the positive, rooms are nice.

After a very long day of travel I was greeted with a genuine smile and welcome from Teri at the front desk. She was the first of many friendly encounters from all of the staff in the hotel and restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful view of the harbour. Great food in the restaurant. If you are looking for a place with a beautiful view in the heart of it all that is friendly, clean snd comfortable this is where you want to be. Highly recommend.

Great stay. The service at reception on arrival was fantastic some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Parking was available and easily accessible right opposite. Easy walk to bars and restaurants.

This was the perfect location for our first trip to St. John’s. From here it was an easy 10 min walk to all the restaurants on Water Street and George Street, but also a reasonable walk up Signal Hill we also walked to Quidi Vidi. There is free parking across and behind the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we felt the hotel was great value for the quality of space and location. Staff were helpful and welcoming and everything went smoothly. We were there for 3 nights. Only part of the hotel that isn’t updated is the slow and finicky elevator. It had a mind of its own!

It was a comfortable stay. The A/C blower in the room is quite noisy but after a couple of beers you won't hear it.nThe beds are absolutely massive and to me was a little too soft but you may like it.nOver all yes I would go back, the staff are really friendly and very helpful
