This was the most disappointing and frustrating hotel experience I have ever had. Upon check in, the staff member only wanted to issue us a breakfast voucher for one night when we had PAID for breakfast for the two nights we were booked in for. She said we were not entitled to a second breakfast because we would be checking out the second morning. I said we still have to eat, and checkout is after breakfast. She countered that we had been given a free upgrade. We had not requested an upgraded room. After some debate, she begrudgingly issued a second breakfast voucher.nOn our way to our room, I asked if there was complimentary coffee, which is pretty standard for hotels of this rating. I was told that coffee was not complimentary, but I could go to the bar and buy Starbucks.nWhen going to bed I found a long “roll” along the side of the mattress, similar to what the edge of an air mattress feels like. The mattress in the centre of the bed sagged had lumps in it. As it was late and I was not up to moving rooms, I put up with the poor mattress and did not complain.nWhen we checked out the second morning the staff member asked how our stay was and I simply responded with a shoulder shrug. She asked for more information. I told her about the mattress. A second staff member came over. They apologized and offered me a free coffee. They then upped the anti and said they would put 1000 points on my rewards card. How many points required for a free night? Little matter, I don’t plan on staying here again. A worthless concession.nThis hotel was $250 plus tax a night at an airport location. Nothing fancy. Cash grab.
Overall had a good stay. The Bistro was a bit disappointing, had the beyond meat burger with a normal bun and fries. No issues with the party, but the bun was dry and the toppings were flavourless. The fries lacked flavour as well. Luckily plenty of option using Skip the Dishes. Talked to a few others staying here and they did the Bistro the first night and then defaulted to Skip for the remainder of the stay. I’m used to staying at Hilton’s and always appreciate the complimentary coffee rather than having to purchase every time.nnAs mentioned, the water pressure for the showers is low, and the open door concept is very drafty. On my first night I checked in around 5pm was exhausted that I ended up crashing around 8:30pm. I was woken up to the phone ringing and the glow of the red light that I thought there was a fire alarm going off. It was the front desk calling to see if everything was good with the room. There really shouldn’t be any calling that late, but that was my personal experience.
Have stayed here since they opened. The property and rooms are still in great condition. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is not included, but you can order for a cost from the restaurant. Free Parking electrified. It’s quiet, especially surprising as it is so close to the airport.nnThe only negative would be the showers. They don’t have a curtain to close to contain heat and the pressure really low.
my company pays for the rooms and checks off all charges on the pre authorization form, this includes incidental charges as well. When checking in here I was told that’s not the case and they demanded a credit card. They refused to look at their book which would have had that form in it.nI put a card down for 5 rooms as I did not wanna deal with this gal and her lack of knowledge and her willingness to not even go try to see. She replied, that’s what my manager told me to do.nShe also said it’s not hotel policy to exchange out from American to Canadian coins when asking for change to use the laundry. She would not take $.75 cents for a $1 in Canadian. Add this currency exchange up in a year from people who fly in as this is an airport hotel adds up over a years time for the good of the hotel.nnAlso gave us a hard time when a fellow co worker realized he misplaced his US ID, she rudely said, you will need that the next time you check in. Hello, he just realized it’s missing and you want to school him on showing ID!! She’s not very friendly and needs a lesson herself in not being so much like a trained robot on the job without having a personality..nnNothing nearby to walk to for food if you have no transportation as my group did.nTheir cafe opens at 5, which is when my group sleeps as we drive at night to the next town/city or state.nnThis is not our first time here in this hotel either. Other hotels over sold and we were forced to come over herenApparently these hotels in town do whatever they want to do.
Shy at front desk is absolutely amazing! Happy, fast & efficient! Very kind & helpful!nOther front desk & lounge staff exceeded our expectations as well!nI always come in with a family of 5 tired from travelling & the special staff welcome us & make us feel at home!n***** service & I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Saskatoon
