Stayed one night for business. The reviews are accurate. Clean cosy rooms. Lots of plugs, comfy bed and pillows, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Lots of towels, good hot water and preassure and a decent breakfast to get you going. What else can you ask for? In addition, great customer service from Kim, the front desk clerk. I needed some toiletries, and she even offered to deliver it to my room. These kinds of small things, make me want to return for sure.
We stayed here in June 2024 and had a great stay. Having a mobility issue with my knee, I was happy to see two grab bars in the bathtub. Also we like it when there is a Hand towel by the sink and a place to hang it. The AC was quiet. Everything was perfect!
Arrived an hour too early for a meeting on the third floor.nStaff directed me to the correct room and greeted me when I showed back at the front desk telling them I had an hour to kill.nNot only did they direct me to the breakfast sitting area they also offered me a free coffee.nWhile I slipped a restaurant staff member offered a free muffin.nExcellent service to a non paying guest was much appreciated!
Upon arrival, our room had a clogged toilet with brown, poop water. It was not a great first impression on cleanliness and attention to details We tried flushing it and moving on but it would not completely flush. The front desk changed our room. The first afternoon and evening the hotel hall reeked of cigarette smoke and something else. It smelled like a cheap, rundown motel. They did have a very small ozonater fan trying to take the smell out. Multiple other times throughout our two night stay the halls reeked of cigarette smoke a marijuana. The container of conditioner in our shower was empty. We requested toilet paper at 8am as we were out and by 1045am when we left it still had not been brought to our room. The room card key stopped working halfway through our stay.nBreakfast was reasonable. The lady working breakfast on Wednesday morning was friendly, helpful and wonderful.nI went to the front desk on our last night to discuss my dissatisfaction with my stay. The lady looked annoyed the whole time and just said she can't do anything about people smoking and it's not the hotels fault that people smoke.nI stay multiple times a year at Choice Hotels and I travel at least 5 times a year to Brockville to see family. This hotel will never have my business again.
Desk staff were helpful and efficient when I popped in at 7 a.m. needing a room for the same day. Room clean and comfortable. The shower looked and felt like a luxury spa. So nice in fact that I used it twice, even though I was only there overnight. I slept soundly, maybe diving for hours in the St Lawrence might have had something to do with it. Breakfast included, more or less what you'd expect for what and where it is, but it's hot and there's plenty of it. Waffle maker was a bonus. Enough furniture in the room to lay out my wet dive gear to dry overnight. Would have been nice to have a big floor fan, but that's a big ask at the last minute and I'm not going to knock them down for that.
