Been shopping here for over 20+ years. Live over a hour drive away & still make the trip because it's good stuff when its in stock or fresh. But lately its not been as fresh sometimes nearly unedible & they are often out of stock of the breads I like.

Being out of town I was introduced to this place by a family friend. The mettwurst was one of the best I've ever had. Baked good were also top tier.

I have lived in the Nanaimo area for about 18 years (not anymore, back in Europe now), and I have to say, if.you like good bread, pastries, cake... unique European foods as well as friendly service, you will not be disappointed. Everything is top quality, and a real gem to find. Nanaimo can call itself lucky to have this place.

We love the Columbia Bakery for the last 12 years of us living on the Island. We drive to Nanaimo every 2-4 months and stock up on their delicious rye bread, their imports from Europe and all the goodies that we are used to. The owners are very accommodating. We request our bread day or two before we come and it is always there, ready. Thank you for your dedication and for bringing a little slice of Germany/Austria/Czech Republic to us! Lovely service too!
