Went Here for 1st time. What a great place to dine. We were greeted with smiles by hostess. And even with a wait we were seated fast. Great place to go if at Edward's Hospital and can't go far for food. As I was taking photos of menu the own came by and photo bomb it with a peace sign. We got Becky as a waitress and she was great. And quick. They are known for thier dessert The Kitchen Sink. It is a huge Banana split. I look forward to more visits here in future. Parking: Parking lot is in a strip mall setting.
The oreo milk shake was almost $9 but it was worth it because it was fresh and delicious. You get two full glasses of shake with the extra cup they give you. I had the loaded chili and the butter for the cornbread was delicious. I tried the chicken tenders they were also very good, fries were okay and the apple coleslaw was pretty tasty. My kid was disappointed in the superman ice cream because it was sherbet instead of ice cream. Friendly staff.
We are not from the area and wanted to try something new while visiting. We ordered chicken fried steak and meatloaf. They came with mashed potatoes, cinnamon apples, and salad. These were all delicious. Reminded us of cracker barrel and the food was as good of not better. The service, though. Wow. There are actually what seems like enough servers for the place so I can't blame covid. Our server was SO slow and seemed to forget us often. In fact, it was quite clear we were done eating for at least 15 minutes before we were able to get boxes and order ice cream. Also, the bathroom was gross.
I’ve always been around this place working or passing through and it always smelled good so I finally tried it !! It didn’t disappoint. The service and food was good !! We’ll definitely go back . If you’re looking for a good solid restaurant next time you’re in the area stop by and you won’t be disappointed. You get a lot of food for the money. I want to go back and try the lunch and dinner as well .
I've been here for brunch a few times when it was not very busy. This has to be the best local restaurant with the best chicken and waffles I've ever had. The skillets are amazing too! They serve you actual large cast iron pans that are loaded and filling. For the price, they really give you your money's worth. I'm only giving 4 stars, because out of the three times I've come here, twice I've had very poor service from the same older lady. She's very nice, but very forgetful. I've had to raise my hand and stand to call her several times for a refill, ketchup, sugar, missing silverware, to go containers, and napkins. I don't know what it was, but there were several other employees just wandering around or just talking, so I didn't think they were short handed. This waitress also only had one other table behind us the last time we were there. Another negative is the parking lot. The parking lot is large because it's a large shopping plaza, but I've come two other times earlier before noon to eat and there was literally no parking in the parking lot so we left after searching for 10 minutes.
The owner is super nice, staff is great, and the food is delicious! You can order anything you haven't tried before and you don't have to wonder if you'll like it or not! It's almost a guaranteed that you will. The drinks are very good, from mimosas to the iced coffees and frappes. The pancakes are very fluffy and fresh, and the toppings are very good as well. The wait is usually a bit long in the weekends but it's expected.
This food was so very good. The pot roast sandwich was amazing. All the drinks were good. The food did take awhile to come out but every where takes forever now a days. I’m glad we came here. It’s pretty pricey but we are in Naperville so not surprising.Dine in: Yes
Love Colonial Cafe! Easily my favorite breakfast spot in the area. My favorites are the Farm Sausage Skillet with Ream's Kielbasa Sausage so, so good! Secondly, the Cold Coffee Cow coffee with vanilla ice cream in it is delicious!
Our first time here and it was really good! Definitely going to be a regular place to eat. Can't wait to try some of the ice cream as well! Wife had a oreo milkshake and it was good!
Had a wonderful experience! Hands down, in our opinion, one of the best breakfast places around town. Peanut butter and Oreo-coffee frappes were yummy and we ordered the ultimate skillet and chicken and waffles. Seriously top notch flavors and portions. 5/5 would recommend!
