I'm just writing this to combat the low reviews. From my experience, the office regulated just as any doctors office would. The check in was quick, the doctor was very thorough and answered my questions. She also explained everything as she did it. I was told when to book my next appointment, and was able to quickly do that. I feel like people who have a fairly normal experience would not stop to write a review, and of course those who are upset would write one immediately. So although the reviews are low for this place, as long as you're understanding and respectful, this office should not worry you in the slightest. I would happily come back to this doctor again!
Dr. Fawzia El-Fakharany is the absolute worst person I’ve ever met. Not even as a physician, but as a human being. I’ve never felt so degraded to the point where I questioned myself until I met this Doctor. I’m not sure who gave her a license and who she practiced under, but I hope karma gets them as well. Won’t put my experience out as I don’t want to, but one thing she said when I visited was "isn’t it idiotic for you to be coming in whenever you’re sick?" My illnesses aren’t colds or the flu, but for matters that require surgery and special therapy.
Don’t go by the comments. She is a nice and caring person. It’s just that she doesn’t like anyone talking in between her work. However she still gives you a full chance to talk about your concerns. She is experienced and intelligent person. Definitely recommend her
Dr.Rizvi is the worst. If you've been referred to him you might as well cancel your appointment because he will do his job with such low effort and he will completely waste your time while he dismisses your pain and doesn't answer any of your questions or concerns. If you have been diagnosed with a neurological condition don't see this guy because you will walk out worse than when you came in. He rushes you out of his office and talks over you before you can even get a word in. He also kept repeatedly asking if I was married which I felt was really inappropriate totally irrelevant to my condition. He put me through a lot which I won't say here but he's rude and pretty useless and there other former patients of his on social media who have commented on his lack of helpfulness and professionalism. He should retire. Having chronic pain and neurological disorders is difficult enough especially when I have to travel an hour to this clinic, save yourself the trouble, find another specialist.
Horrible front desk receptionist. Called to book an appt with my gynecologists to remove my IUD that was inserted by her. Was told I need a doctor's referral because it's been over a year!! My gynecologists is a specialist I should hope that I don't need to see her every few months after my IUD has been inserted!! I explained this to the horrible receptionist and she did not seem to understand or care. GO ELSEWHERE folks!!
Appointment with Dr.Rizvi? Do yourself a favour and cancel it now unless you enjoy being yelled at and threatened. I set up this account just cause my experience with him has been so shocking I could not let it go unsaid. Been here multiple times trying to keep everything consistent with the same person and I deeply regret not immediately switching to someone else after the first bad experience. He is usually running very late and in a huge rush to get you out the door. Will not listen long enough to explain all your symptoms before interrupting and he will disregard any concerns you have regarding what he says. He is arrogant, and very disrespectful of other medical professionals. Will go against standard medical knowledge/practice and would rather mask your problems with drugs than get you the treatment you need to get better. Please spare yourself.
I went to see Dr Fawzia El-Fakharany to have my "lost" IUD removed. After reading the other reviews I was terrified to go in. It was honestly one of the easiest lady bits appointments I've ever had. The girls at the front we kind, they got me in as soon as I finished the covid pre screen questions. It took her less than 5 seconds to find and remove the IUD. I would highly recommend her if you are needing a similar service.
The psychiatrist I saw, Dr. Saleh was quite rude from the beginning of the appointment, when I asked why she only sees patients once. She also thought it more prudent to spend the 30-minute appointment not asking me questions about my mood or outlook on my mental health, but instead asking me questions about each hospitalization entry on my Netcare file only one of which had anything to do with mental health. I had been seeing Dr. Saleh because I thought I may have ADHD, but she dismissed my opinions on ths entierly. After 30 minutes of this she believed she had gained enough info to not just make a diagnosis, but perscribe medication for it. I've since seen another psychiatrist, who adamently disagreed with Dr. Saleh’s diagnosis of Narcassitic Personality Disorder and instead confirmed my suspections of my having ADHD. I've started working with an ADHD coach and my mental health has improved tremendously, but I still can't help but wonder what could have happened if I accepted Dr. Saleh’s errant diagnosis and the medication she perscribed for it. Because of this, I felt I had to add my expierence here—to warn other people that if you attend an appointment with Dr. Saleh, seek a second opinion before making changes to your medication based solely upon her judgement. Dr. Saleh was also incredibly dismissive of the interaction between being a sexual minority and mental health and there seemed to be a very clear shift in her attitude after my disclosing my being a sexual minority.
To be clear, my review is a comprehensive one based on a both my experience with treatment at these locations by the various specialists, as well as the staff at the clinic itself. Clearwater Specialist centre has two locations in the same parking lot. Recently I saw Dr. Atef Abdulsamad in rheumatology and was so relieved when he listened to my concerns and gave a clear and accurate diagnosis about something that has truly been bothering and scaring me. I have seen other specialists at this location as well and they have all been pleasant to deal with and helpful in helping me to manage my wellbeing. The clinic staff reception are nothing special sorry, but they aren't bad either. Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, as I have attended these locations multiple times with positive experiences each time. I was honestly fearful to go here based on the reviews, but my personal experience here has been positive. My main issue, and why I'm only giving four stars, is that I had to wait very very very very long to get in to see Dr. Abdulsamad. I was referred in April and didn't get in until November.
I'm happy with my care here so far, but now I've been trying for over a week to make an appointment and when I call it rings 4 times and sends me back through the automated system. I've done this cycle 4-5 times on several different days now and I can't get through. What's going on? Update: I just want to say since writing my original review they have improved with answering the phone. Occasionally I have called when they should be open and there's no answer so I think those days they close. But overall it does seem more reliable again.
