Don’t sit in the balcony nor eat the food! 1 sitting in the theatre 3 balcony you can clearly hear a near by door opening/closing regularly. Very distracting. 2 I thought I’d try the food on a recent trip. Got the nachos with chicken. Easily the worst nachos I’ve ever had and they cost $20 3 the actual movie experience is fine. I prefer theatres with the big recliner seats but these are lacking in Vancouver. So I come here less than I would otherwise. M
I like this theatre overall, I go here to see a movie on average of three times a month. The seats are fine. The popcorn is good. However I was extremely disappointed that I order a combo 1 to get the Christmas ornament that is advertised to come with it on the menu and only after paying and collecting my items was I told that I would not be receiving the ornament. I would not haven gotten that $22.99 combo if I had known this. I was told they do not know why it is being advertised because they do not have it and there was nothing I could do.
Movie theatres are quite quaint, and as expected, food is pricey $5 large drink/7.99 large popcorn. For theatre #1 - Online seating portrays a bigger room than what youd expect. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic experience! One of the few theatres that had Triangle of Sadness.
It's far from the best cinemas in town. No complementary parking and the screen-chair angle isn't very comfortable. However, it's a great alternative for the kits area because you don't have to cross any bridges to watch the latest releases.
Ever since they reinvented themselves as an adult-oriented movie experience many years back, I've enjoyed movies at the 5th Ave Cinema. The place is always clean, the seats comfy, and both the sound and screen make for an enjoyable movie experience. I do wish they were a little more assertive when it comes to people using phones mid-movie, which is extremely distracting, but I can also appreciate that may be tough when staffing shortages are so common. We go downtown to a big theatre for those larger-than-life blockbuster movies where you want thundering sound and a massive screen, but for 90% of the movies we see, the 5th Ave is absolutely perfect.
I went last night to watch Tar in aud3 balcony and it was super annoying to hear every 2-3 minutes a door slam. It seemed to be a staff only door outside of the balcony door. Incredible how not only the doors are very noisy but the theatre is not soundproofed. Also the chairs are very squeaky so of anyone moved, you could hear it. Movie sound system not great but it was the bad condition of the chairs and door that didn't let us enjoy the movie.
This is a good theatre, and the child-free aspect is very nice, however the seats are pretty uncomfortable plus the theatres are small and cramped. The ability to have alcohol in the movie will probably have me coming back again but the service was poor and I was late for my movie because they couldn’t work their charge system correctly.
Great location if you want to watch any movie without children around. It's small, which means any popular screening will likely require booking tickets well in advance, and keep in mind that the nachos aren't sold in the regular store, but in the pizza spot closer to the entrance.
Love having a slightly smaller Cineplex in my neighbourhood! Great location, the staff were all kind, and the auditorium was super clean. I wish the popcorn had been hot, or even warm, but it was still tasty. :
Maverick is back ! Watched top gun2 , comfortable recliner seats and clean toilets , well maintained cinema walking distance from central broadway
