Loved this unique Italian spot! The ambiance, small size and style make this a perfect date spot. The service was great from both the host and wait staff. Then there’s the food which was amazing. Fresh, generous portions, flavorful and unique. Absolutely loved this spot and would definitely come back next time I’m in Chicago! Highly recommend.
10/10 food, service and atmosphere. We started off with cocktails the hostess recommended, the old fashioned and Puccini, both delicious and generous portions. For appetizers, we had the prosciutto with burrata and their complimentary warm freshly-made bread, all top-notch. Our favorite had to be the main course, both the spicy vodka rigatoni and the black truffle bucatini were outstanding! The spicy vodka…was actually a bit spicy! It was so flavorful and was just the right amount of “kick.” Would 100% have either of those dishes again. And we finished off with the bread pudding for dessert, which was definitely good but would probably try a different dessert next time because there WILL be a next time.
Absolutely among the best places to go for an Italian fare more specifically, pasta in Chicago. Our hostess was very helpful and hospitable. Definitely start with a drink as here they know how to conduct a harmony of alcohols sweets and sours. Then you would be impressed by the bread - we certainly were by this rare ultra fluffy yet consistent species! The salad would be a good choice for starter as it’s on the lighter side save your stomach after the bread and for the entrees while at the same time very delicious. The spicy vodka rigatoni was the most popular item and proved to be irresistible! Also fell in love with the ravioli primavera - the ingenious addition of the greens made it a truly rare and precious find! Too full and save the dessert for next time! P.S. There aren’t many tables in their intimate but small indoor dining space see photo so it’s very difficult to make a reservation. But they have an outdoor patio and do take walk-ins - so don’t be discouraged ;
Visited from Toronto and could not have been happier with the food and service I got. Alfredo was very kind and very attentive to our wants. He also gave me a gift and dessert on the house for my birthday. Will definitely go back to Chicago just to visit Ciccio again!
Ciccio Mio has a beautifully designed interior and is quite cozy. The bread, olive oil, pickled vegetables, and prosciutto were delicious . The waiter was knowledgeable and kind. The main dishes were disappointing. The spicy vodka dish was ok. The pasta dish with the mussels were pungently fishy. The desserts were pretty to look at and the taste again was average. The pavlova was average and what was expected : sweet. The confusion came when we received the check at the end, when a birthday dessert ice cream with salt in a pretty cup with a mysterious candy looking wrapper next to the cup was added to the bill. We had not asked for the special dessert, but it was brought out, with good intentions by the restaurant. Which at the end was added to the tab
Little hard to find due to small sign but it had a great ambience. Would strongly recommend making reservations because of limited number of tables. Servers were very friendly and cocktails were lovely. Bread was great but was not impressed with the food. Spicy vodka rigatoni was good but Paccheri with saffron mussels had a grainy texture and a fishy taste that I did not appreciate. For my party’s celebratory occasion, the restaurant surprisingly served us a gelato that we did not order & we were charged for. I had a high expectation due to many wonderful reviews but was greatly disappointed. Update: Had a chance to talk to Ciccio Mio team and was impressed with how receptive they are with customer feedbacks. I am willing to return to give Ciccio Mio another try.
Ciccio Mio is an amazing spot that I wish had more seating. It's small and intimate but the dishes were absolutely delicious. I would definitely bring a date here.
This is the best Italian restaurant I've been to. The service is impeccable. The ambience is warm and cozy - perfect for a date night or for celebrating a special event with family and friends. We ordered the meatballs, beef tartare and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. For entrees, we ordered the orecchiette pugliese and the casarecce lamb sugo. Loved every dish. My favorites were the beef tartare and orecchiette pugliese. Pasta was just amazing. I enjoy spicy food and the orecchiette includes a spicy pork sausage that adds so much flavor to the dish.
5/5 this place is incredible. I wanted to chalk them up as instagram hype based upon the pretentious 21-day booking period. But…I had to eat my words. So, it took a couple of attempts to book a table. Set an alarm and make sure your credit card is entered on the Resy app. Also, you can sit in the lounge if you get there early enough. First-come, first serve. They seated us upon arrival, but requested we order food as a group. Polite request and fair since the food came out piping hot. The food is AMAZING. The fresh bread is crusty and delicious and pairs nicely with the pickled vegetables. Definitely get the burrata with the balsamic vinegar. The flavors were simple and sooo delicious. Michael was our server and he was amazing, polite and super professional. He gave us space, but took time to inquire and ensure we enjoyed our meal. The ribeye was the BEST steak I’ve had in Chicago. My friend ordered it Medium and it was perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth tender. The roasted chicken was mind-blowingly tender as well. Asparagus was delicious as was the orecchiette. The drinks were good and the amaretto sour with egg white was EGGCELLENT. This place is worth the hype. I booked reservations to Bavette’s part of the same restaurant group and set an alarm to get reservations back to Ciccio Mio while we were there eating.
A very charming 10 table boutique Italian restaurant. Great cozy atmosphere, food was great they fly in their burrata from Italy, had 700 day aged prosciutto etc. Service is excellent. All around extremely impressed. What impressed me the most is the waiter Wes recommended a bottle of wine that was very good but not expensive. I would’ve paid far more for one but didn’t have to. If your ever in Chicago I would highly recommend that you eat here before you leave.
