Pretty solid sandwich. I got the 6" Italian and it was very good. Tasty and filling and a descent amount of protein and meat inside which I would say is a great deal for the price. Beware it is a bit spicy but the good kind of spicy. I would recommend this spot for a quick bite. Their hours and location could be more convenient but it is what it is.
Believe us when we say Ryan and his brother are doing some great things at Marqs. Probably the only Chicago beef sandwich available in Toronto, you are getting a ton of food and flavour for a very affordable price in the heart of downtown. Nestled away on Market 707/Bathurst & Dundas, make sure you visit them and try any one of their sandwiches - you won't regret it. Oh, and don't forget to get an order of their rooftop fries.
This place is legit. Amazing sandwich, so fresh, juicy and flavourful. As a first-timer of this type of sandwich, the giardiniera was surprisingly spicy but it complimented the sandwich awesomely. The owners were really nice, and their experience with the sandwich comes right from Chicago. Take your ‘The Bear’ viewing to the next level and come eat this sandwich, and support this business you won’t be disappointed.
Absolutely not my style of sandwich but it was pretty good! Just got a 6" beef with spicy peppers. Pepper juice was great. Was left feeling like a little more salt or Msg in the juice would make this a 5/5 but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. Still worth checking out!!
The Italian beef is perfect. Great sandwich, great staff, and totally worth the money. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to enjoy a treat. Make sure to get the beef dip, it’s a must. Life changing experience. This sandwich is amazing. I got the 9” spicy beef sandwich “dipped”. For $12.50 they are practically giving these things away. Great bang for your buck. It was the perfect level of spicy, it had some legit heat but it wasn’t over done. Bread is the perfect combination of thick and strong enough not to fall apart after you dip the sandwich, and light and fluffy enough so it doesn’t fill you up on bread. This is the first time I’ve ever enjoyed the flavour of olives, there is a couple on top mixed in with vegetables and peppers. It was a sandwich like nothing I’ve ever had before, apparently it’s a Chicago classic‍. It’s rare that I am this moved by a sandwich, but this one is special! Go treat yourself! The owners run the stand and are super friendly and down to earth. 10/10
I’ve heard so much about this place through social media TikTok especially and it looked too good not to try! Made the trip from the east-end all the way downtown and it did not disappoint! I got the 6” Italian beef dipped with the rooftop fries and garpar fries and it was absolutely delicious. It was so good I actually ordered another sandwich and got it dunked the second time around. For those who haven’t tried it yet, dunked it the way to go. It really soaks up all the flavour and juiciness and enhances the overall taste of the sandwich. The fries were also really good! Fresh, tasty, and the garlic really stood out. I look forward to trying their other sandwiches. Thank you for living up to the hype and my expectations, I will be back!
Supremely awesome - fantastic beef sammies, and a sentimental taste of the Windy City! Outstandingly recommended. There's even a picnic table, if like me you can't wait to chow down! Wheelchair accessibility: They are very accommodating, and there's a community centre adjacent with accessible washrooms.
I don’t usually review stuff but this sandwich was amazing. I got the classic Italian dunked with hot peppers. The beef was juicy and the giardiniera was hot but not too hot. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Definitely coming back.
I had recently visited the best Chicago style Italian beef sandwich shop in town, and it felt like an authentic Chicago experience. The service was exceptional from the start. The friendly staff who were also the owners, were more than happy to guide me through their menu and answer all my questions. I ordered the beef n sausage duo and garlic parmesan fries. The French roll that held everything together was fresh and perfect for dunking in the au jus. The Italian beef itself, holyyy! It was thinly sliced, tender, and packed with flavour. The seasoning was a great balance between savory and tangy. The sausage had a good snap when biting into it and I think complemented flavour of the beef. I chose the combination of sweet peppers and giardiniera on top which added an extra layer of spicy sweetness. The portion size was generous, the attention to detail was evident, and the sandwich itself was a 10/10. I ordered a side of garlic parmesan fries that seems like it's being slept on. I was addicted to them and so was my sister! Overall, my experience at this Italian beef shop was absolutely top-notch. The combination of incredible flavors, friendly service, and attention to detail is what shows that this place is 5 stars. I cannot recommend this place enough to all food enthusiasts out there.
