Sigh! So many things about this place are just wrong. We ordered fried chicken wings appetiser. It was pretty to look at but it tasted like it's never salted, totally bland. I generally like my food less salty but the wings just had no taste. For the main dishes, we ordered gailan with oyster sauce and it was fine, not outstanding but it was okay. Next was the salt and pepper ribs. They were cut into uneven little cubes and deep fried till bone dry. They were passable but not attractive. Service was so so. Even the waitress admitted it was a place for western palette and not an authentic Chinese taste. When we were finishing our meal, the waitress took the leftover rice and ribs to pack into boxes for us. What a surprise to receive only one box, she apparently pack the two items into one box, never had that happened before. We had always wondered about this place whenever we passed by, now we know to keep passing by next time.
Always a long wait to get food. They have really good meat and chicken. But always consistently good.
We really enjoyed it. Almond chicken wasn't thick with batter just nicely battered, sweet and sour pork not fatty and I didn't find it dry as read in a previous review? Egg rolls were really good. Impressive manners on the phone and quick service with a reasonable price no complaints here !!! Thank you we will happily be ordering again :
Good food. Noodles were not greasy, food came up fast and was super tasty. Love this place as one of my family's favorite dining restaurants. I should not even be telling about this place for fear that it becomes too popular and busy but can't help but share. Go and enjoy the food.
Had takeout from here. First time ordering from here and it will be the last. The food was average priced, but the quality was pretty poor with it being pretty obvious that not much care had been put into preparing it. Lots of under cooked veggies, not much meat and a store bought sauce made up all of the three dishes ordered. They did not provide chopsticks or fortune cookies in the takeout bag, which I thought was just a staple of Chinese restaurants.
Poor quality food. The hot and sour soup is not edible. It's pink in color. Never seen this before. No one in the restaurant during lunch hour. Poor service. My bill was $29 and the owner would not honour the 10% discount because it wasn't $30 exact. I can live with this but the food was awful.
Worst food experience we've ever had. We came in at 8:00 pm. Only one other table filled. We thought it was late and maybe that was why it wasn't busy. Second warning we should have considered was the smell of burnt food. Things happen but we didn't think it would affect our food. So we sit down and order 3 dishes. Third warning, the food came out extremely fast. Like it only took time to fill the plates fast! Fried rice was inedible, overwhelming burnt taste and no other flavor. We sent it back. Chow mein was drowning in sauce, the noodles were mushy like they were scraped from the bottom of a pot. Spicy and salty squid was not salty, overly spicy and not cooked enough because the batter was not fully cooked. We are disgusted with the whole experience and will never go back or recommend this place to anyone! I'm shocked that they would serve that kind of food to customers and think it's acceptable!
I have been trying to find a decent place to get Chinese food in Langley... So far I am not doing so good. I am really not asking for much. I paid more here to get less than other Chinese food places in Langley. At Chan's Palace I ordered s&s pork: which was stringy dry and the sweet and sour had too much vinegar. chow mien: was not bad a little plain. chop suey: again not too bad. a little under cooked for me but it was OK Sweet and sour chicken ball: They were edible but I could taste the baking powder in them and the sweet and sour sauce had too much vinegar. I make better chicken balls at home and that is not saying much. I would not recommend this place to my friends and I will not go back again either.
Good place for some Chinese food. Although sometimes it's a miss. The food is good most of the time but there is that odd once or twice where the food doesn't taste like it usually does. Under seasoned or over cooked. Maybe there's a different person cooking that day? But overall it's a good local place to get some good Chinese food.
Great family restaurant. The staff had no problems answering all my 5yo's questions. We ordered the beef & tomato fried rice, honey garlic pork boneless these were delicious! And beef & broccoli Great food and service will definitely dine there again
