The only real authentic Cantonese Chinese food in Langley without driving out to the Surrey centre area. It's good food, but unfortunately it's pretty pricey for the convenient location. The four of us ordered soup, fried rice, fried noodles and 3 dishes and the bill ended up around $200. The food was overall good. The soup was okay, fried rice was a bit bland, friend noodles were quite good, and 2/3 dishes were very good while the one was just okay. The server was surprisingly good. They were nice and suggested dishes. We didn't run into the typical service problems we usually face at Chinese restaurants. The restaurant was clean and nice inside. My only complaint is it's a bit pricey but I'll still recommend it if you are looking for something closer to home.
We had a very nice Sunday Dim Sum at Luxe. The pandemic has not been kind to dining experiences like Dim Sum, where part of the pleasure has always been picking dishes from push carts as they circle the restaurant. Luxe has no push carts, and you order dishes from their online menu. The world changes and we change with it. As we arrived, we were seated with almost no delay. Tea was promptly placed on the table for us and then the waitstaff moved on. The time for the waitstaff to return for our order was a bit too long; but once our order was placed the food began to arrive promptly. Filling of the teapot and removal of empty dishes was also well coordinated. We went to the service counter/bar to pay our bill as that seemed quicker. It was busy and full in the restaurant. The restaurant is not large and they do seem to have put in as many tables as they can. It can feel a little claustrophobic; but that is also part of the Dim Sum experience. We did remark on how clean and well kept this restaurant is and that is appreciated. Small tables for two are cafe sized and do not lend themselves to accommodating various Dim Sum dishes at the same time. Large tables seemed fine. The food is varied, with most dishes being typical of standard Dim Sum fare. We did order a chicken fried rice that came with large chunks of unseasoned chicken. This seemed inconsistent with the other dishes we tasted, as the chicken was in larger than bite sized chunks and the bland taste impacted the whole dish negatively. The other dishes were tasty, well cooked, and typically portioned for Dim Sum. I think Luxe is a great choice for Dim Sum in Langley. Our experience was positive and this is a restaurant that is obviously taking all the needed steps to ensure a repeat clientele that is loyal. I believe it is well worth your time and patronage.
Ok, so I know that saying this is one of the best Chinese dim sum places in Langley isn't saying much since Langley has so few options... But we did enjoy our meal here. Ordering is a bit odd as you have to look up the menu online then flag someone down to take your order. It might sound normal given all the covid changes but it's difficult to remember all the dishes if you're like us and want to order a bunch of things much prefer having a paper menu to tick off items. Best things we had here were the saucy honeycomb tripe and the beef rice rolls with cilantro. Pea tips with shrimp dumplings, stuffed tofu and eggplant were pretty solid too. Thought the deep fried taro dumplings had a bit too much taro-to-filling and the deep fried spicy squid was a bit too dry. But if you're in Langley and hankering for some dim sum, this place will work.
Nice authentic Chinese restaurant in Langley. Not many places have good dim sum any more. If you are looking for the rice noodle with prawn, come on the weekend. They don't serve that during the weekdays. Tea service is $1/person which is pretty standard. Cheapest dishes are $8-9 dollars. Menu is available via a QR codeFood: 4/5
Great dim sum. Service is ok. The space is crammed. They basically don't provide menus, you have to scan the QR code to access the online menu.Food: 5/5
Their dim sum is delicious and comparable to some places in Richmond. It can get busy on weekends, so always call ahead to reserve a table. Their dinner is quite good too, it is a bit pricier since the pandemic and being one of the few local Chinese restaurants in the area. This is our local go to place for Chinese cuisine, and I would say the best one in Langley
Delicious Cantonese food. The roast duck is so crispy with the plum sauce a perfect match. Seafood veggies have lots of pawns and scallop. Taste fresh. Stirfry bean spouts with garlic, you can tell chef did a good job. Ending with red bean soup as dessert, what a wonderful meal.
You get what you pay for here. It's a bit pricey but the quality is there. Best dim sum in Langley. They also have the best deep fried calamari IMO.
Quality Chinese dishes, hard to find as I'm in south Surrey but glad I was able to find a traditional hk seafood restaurant! Will definitely try their dim sum in the future. Sweet and sour pork overall was good except the pork was way too hard lol... Lived the pineapples though! Fried rice was really good. Would definitely get their beef brisket dishes again. Dinner came with cold red bean soup as dessert!
Ordered the sweet and sour chicken. Disgusting. Old meat neatly dressed in sweet and sour sauce but the old breath of the chicken couldn’t be concealed. Never again. I told the server, she said she’s going to bring the manager. Nobody came. I said I just want to eat something anything that’s fresh.
