Story

Influenced by a small canton in northeast Switzerland, our beautiful Swiss-style inn was a grand vision by a cheesemaker, restauranteur, architect, and printer. The dream became a reality in 1980 and has been a treasure of New Glarus ever since it was built. The Chalet Landhaus Inn was built in a traditional Swiss style with a perfect blend of modern convenience and old-world Swiss décor—it's a touch of Switzerland close to home.

The staff is very friendly. This was best part of stay. Room was overall comfortable. But I'd give it 5 stars if the decor was updated, remodeled. Replace the carpet and you'd likely get rid of the musty smell others are pointing out.

This place was wonderful! Super cozy and walking distance from all our favorite shops and restaurants in New Glarus. Rooms were clean and the beds are crazy comfortable (I definitely had a hard time getting up in the morning). On top of all of that, the staff is very friendly and very helpful. I'll definitely be staying again!

Great location to the downtown and bike paths. Room was neatly kept, but the curtain was broken and our room smelled musty. Sent our allergies through the roof. The hot tub was filthy. Brown stuff moving around at the bottom. The swimming pool was also dirty and had scum deposit in it. Overall the swimming area needed a huge cleaning. We didn't use either one. For $175 a night it is way over priced based on these observations. The staff is very friendly and the morning continental breakfast was a nice change from what other hotels offered.

Great location, excellent pool & whirlpool. My wife and I were on the first floor but was still very quiet. Staff was great. We stored our bikes in the shed at no charge. Best place to stay in new glarus

My wife and I will definitely be back. It's quaint, close to all the shops and pubs, which is great, and if you get a room on the top floor facing the Sugar River trail, it's very quiet at night. The restaurant in the hotel is nothing compared to their restaurant in town - so be sure to get to town for the food.
