Yummy food, delicious cocktails, great ambiance, and friendly staff! Lots of pasta and pizza options to choose from, however, there is not much to accommodate for someone that may be vegetarian. We were there for a birthday dinner and had a larger group so the staff was very accommodating. Lots of great deserts to choose from. Definitely a little pricier, located right near the capitol but quality of food was great!
A good paste is very very hard to find. The pasta we had here is very good, the flavor is creative, the homemade pasta has a good texture I like, and it is NOT saucy like most of the restaurants. Butcher board is recommended. One of the cheeses we had is truffle goat cheese, usually, I don’t like goat cheese but this one taste like a truffle chewy cheese, it is really good. This restaurant uses good quality ingredients for its dishes. Cocktails are good too.
We enjoyed the Kitchen Table and it was an amazing experience. The food was beyond our expectations, but the service was even better. Emma, our server, took time to explain every part of the meal and was an absolute delight to talk with! The chef came over to speak with us and he was engaging and delightful. We will be back soon and often!
First off, I'd recommend reservations. They do take walk-ins, but still, it's a very busy restaurant for good reason. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The pasta is hand-made, and they have several different styles available with various sauces depending on the dish. Everyone in my party of 5 was delighted with their meals. And the service was top notch, from the hostess to the server, everyone was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable of the menu. I'd give this place 10 stars if I was able to.
We went to Cento for a birthday dinner and it was a wonderful experience. We had a reservation and were taken directly to our table when we arrived. Our waitress was friendly and willing to answer our questions about the menu and allergen information. We ended up ordering a bottle of rose, the sourdough bread, fried artichokes, salmon dinner, honey roasted carrots, and chicken Parmigiano. They also brought out a free dessert to celebrate the birthday. Overall, a pleasant and delicious experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion.
We've had dinner here before and have had nice experiences, but recently came for brunch and sat at the bar... absolutely loved it! Excellent and creative brunch drinks, really well-crafted entrees. The service, however, was outstanding. Sometimes when you sit at the bar, it feels like you're an afterthought compared to those who reserved tables, but Robert, the bar manager, went above and beyond. It would have been a great meal regardless, but we enjoyed our experience that much more because of his excellent hospitality, as well as that of the server who was initially assisting us who had to leave because of a shift change. We're looking forward to coming back for brunch again soon. And kudos/thanks to Robert. It was some of the best service we've had at any restaurant in Madison.
Our first visit post pandemic to Cento was delightful. The outdoor seating pleasant on a warm summer evening. Service was attentive and timely. Food is excellent, every dish we ordered. Ambiance is elegant, relaxing, and accompanied by soft indoor lights. A little loud but that’s a reality of a very busy restaurant in America. No one will usually watch over their voices.
I came for the Linguini alla Vongole. I would definitely return. We had early evening reservations, so it was quiet. I ordered the linguini alla vongole, my favorite go-to Italian dish. It had an amazing flavor profile, the clams were so fresh and the noodles were had a creamy texture. I would hands down eat this dish again; everyone should. My husband got the Porcini Pappardelle and loved it. He got a gelato dessert with espresso poured over it and said there were so many strong flavors. He enjoyed it. The server could’ve been a little more welcoming, but other than that, I would definitely return and recommend to others. Our bill was about $130, four drinks, an appetizer, two entrees and dessert; pretty great value.
Took my daughter and wife here for her birthday. First impressions when we walked in: "this place looks pretty fancy and expensive." Definitely set our expectations high. However, the food was just ok. The best food that night was the bacon wrapped dates. The entrees were not our favorites at all. Also, this place was infested with fruit flies. We spent the majority of the time hitting and swapping the fruit flies. This basically ruined our dinner. I told the server, who was good btw, about the flies and he said he already notified the manager. Another couple that sat by us decided to move because of the flies. Later, they mentioned that there was flies in the new spot also. Mosy likely won't be coming back again. who knows how many flies are in the kitchen?
Restaurant is amazing. Very accommodating, my husband and I did not have a reservation and they fit us in perfectly! The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was calm. Great restaurant for dates, anniversaries, high end party.
