Cedars Restaurant
"At Cedars, our menu is a unique blend of Indian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Cuisine. From Baba Ghannoj and Hummus to Shish Taouk and Shish Kababs, we offer the best of the Mediterranean and Middle East, and also all the different regional favorites of India, including vindaloo, korma, rogan josh, palak paneer, and a variety of curries! Our butter chicken is probably what we’re most famous for, and we guarantee you won’t find a better selection of naan anywhere in Seattle! Our chai tea is another point of Cedars’ pride—chai is the heart of every Indian restaurant, and has to be made to perfection each and every time. The chefs at Cedars simmer a secret blend of tea, spices and milk in each brew until the flavor, texture."

Wow. Cedars is a wonderful spot for Indian food. They have a large menu, and the service is fast! The atmosphere of the restaurant is loud once there's a few tables seated, but it feels homey in a way. The mango curry lamb is quite delicious, and I love how they serve their naan. You place your order on your phone at the table which is a little confusing at first but I see more and more restaurants doing this at the moment. Overall, great place!
loved the food here!! brought someone not super familiar with indian food and she enjoyed it very much. the flavors are good, but medium hot is still pretty much zero spice. even great flavor without the spice, though. paneer is wonderful here and the garlic naan is to die for. also, great price!! atmosphere is nice and staff is nice. also, great vegetarian options!
One of my favorite spots for Mediterranean! The portions are large. Easy to get gluten free. Staff were friendly! Their shrimp is so good!
Charming college-town spot for fantastic Indian food. The restaurant is cozy and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We were quickly seated around 6pm on a Friday night. The naan came in giant pieces so we over ordered a bit by getting one per person but it was absolutely worth the leftovers because it was so good. I tried the vindaloo curry with a high spice level and they delivered on heat. I was sweating after a few bites but couldn't stop eating because it was so delicious. The curry was decadent with tender pieces of meat that perfectly complemented the naan. Lots of construction in the area so street parking is pretty limited. It's a short walk from the light rail though.
Good food, ample seating space, elaborate menu with both Indian and Mediterranean food options. Portion size and taste were both good, also has dedicated parking. They also provide chutneys on the side. We ordered vegan biryani, paneer, aloo parantha and raita on the side. They also have pints of ice cream to go.
Pretty good service and food. I do wish the Daal was more flavorful and the gulab jamun less sweet though. Note that you have to pay for parking except a few spots in the front
If you’re looking authentic Indian food or any random Indian food in a hurry I DON’T recommend this place. The place is a mess very low tier maintenance and unkempt tables and restrooms. To the Restaurant: Sorry, but you guys need to improve by a hugeeee bracket.
I was pretty underwhelmed by this place. There are so many great options for Indian food in Seattle, and this isn’t one of them. The food is alright but definitely affordable, and the service was good even as businesses struggle to recover and return from covid times. I wouldn’t come back here but could definitely see this being a good option for college students in the area!
Specializing in Mediterranean, Indian, and Pakistani dishes, Cedars is one of the best restaurants in this genre of food in the Pacific Northwest. I'd challenge anyone to find one with better service or better cuisine. I use to come to Cedars once a week or so when I lived in the area. I moved with my wife and child to San Diego for a number of year, and we could not find anything nearly as wonderful as the experience with Cedars. Now that we've been home Seattle for a few years, we are delighted to see the ownership of this wonderful establishment was passed to the caring hands of people who treat their customers as wonderfully as they treat their food. Sadly, we live in another part of Seattle and can't visit as frequently, but it's a genuine treat when we can. I asked my wife what she would like for our anniversary dinner and I was so glad she picked take-out from one of our favorite restaurants. It's still the COVID era, so we aren't eating-in. SERVICE Gracious. Friendly. They are the epitome of kindness on every level. FOOD Over the years, I've tried nearly everything on the menu. My favorites pre-meal favorites include the spinach naan with the cilantro dip, the chicken pakoras, which are heavenly perfection, the vegetable samosas, but you can't go wrong with any of the appetizers. I wish I could order everything on the menu at one time and just feast, but I went with the every-delightful Royal Biryani Chicken, the classical Mughlai dish cooked with chicken curry, basmati rice, saffron and cashews. Hours later, I can still taste the savory flavors. Of course, I couldn't resist a little of my wife's amazing Vindaloo Chicken, though hers was mild and I like mine as close to authentically spicy as possible. The American palate is not as developed for such refined authentic seasoning, but I personally love it. It warms my heart, in more ways than one. I am so glad to see Cedars is still continuing to survive this COVID status. Oh, and one thing to note - please, please, please, order your own pickup rather than through delivery services. Delivery companies employ people, which is great, but they take a huge cut of the business away from restaurants, which is also hurting their survival. You can order online for pickup and the restaurant retains 100 percent of the revenue, which goes into paying their staff sustainable wages. Also, be generous with your tips. Independent restaurants don't have huge amounts of capital. Their margins are often very thin, so the tips really nurture them more than you realize.
First of all, the smell of this place lured me in. I am a huge fan of trying different foods. I was NOT disappointed at all!
