Samir's Mediterranean Grill

This little Hidden gem in the University District is a great place to get a great meal, loved the Gyro and fries I had. Just the right amount of meat, lettuce, and tomato. Fries were nice and crispy. Very affordable, and Samir is a friendly and gracious host. I will go back again when in the University District. Really close to the Light Rail Station. Give them a try, think you will like the food and service.

Samir’s Mediterranean Grill is a must if you’re walking down University District. The Falafel plate was a vegan’s paradise! An interesting mixture of oval patties, pitas and salad. The light rail station is close by if you ever want to stop by again.

Was really looking forward to trying this place for a quick dinner. Ordered two gyros with fries and one order of special fries. The owner was very nice, however the indoor areas did not look well kept, and the kitchen did not look clean. The fries were plain from a bag and didn’t even have salt. The gyro itself was okay, heavy on lettuce and tomato. Light on meat, and the meat was not flavorful. The special fries were even more disappointing. $12 for a box of unseasoned fries with sour cream and cold gyro meat. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place, especially given the high prices.

It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. This place is simply great! Atmosphere is chill and cool, and making the customers happy is Samir's main priority! Food is excellent and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. "Falafel and gyro are fantastic at Samir's".

Samir's is fantastic! Not only is the food great the gyro sandwich is my go-to but Samir himself is so much fun and so kind! Samir's has been in the U-District for over 40 years, and there's a reason it's loved by so many!

The Purloined Pita: I'll start out with the positive: Samir's is a quaint little "hole-in-the-wall" sort of food joint. The food looked quite appealing and it was straight-forward to put in an order over the phone. Ordering online over PostMates was a disaster and a half, but that is irrelevant. Now for the things which led to my one-star review: First, I went to pick up my order around 6:00 PM on a Friday. The street running beside the restaurant was a bit busy with people walking back and forth, some were standing around the outside tables having rather loud conversations. Nothing out of the general ordinary for a Friday evening around the U District. The door to Samir's was locked, and when I was let in, Samir told me it was because the "crazies" were out. Uh-huh. Secondly, I ordered a Pita sandwich with fries combo and the appetizer hummus which is listed in multiple places to be accompanied by pita. Typical practice of just about every Mediterranean food place I have ever visited. When I arrived home, I found I was charged for both items, but was missing THE FRIES AND THE PITA. Two, while not absolutely essential, quite important parts of the overall meal and food items which I had paid for. Samir's was not at all busy when I placed my order and went to get it, so that cannot be used as context for this mistake. Samir also has the appearance of a capable restaurateur, and so it was easy for me to trust my order was correct. Caveat emptor...oh well, there are fortunately many other Mediterranean food places in North Seattle which have not cheated me out of items I have ordered.

Amazing hidden Gem always great serving great food and the owners & their sons are super friendly and generous and make sure they go out of their way to make the customer feel welcomed. Truly worth trying if your looking for middle eastern food

World-class falafel here, and a delicious vegan combination plate. The lamb shank special was also amazing. Can't recommend this place highly enough.Food: 5/5
