Before the pandemic, Indian buffets were about a dime a dozen but nowadays it is nearly impossible to find one. Well, Jewel Of India advertises in their name the lunch buffet and it isn't too bad! They have the typical butter chicken and Naan offerings along with Gulabjamon for dessert. Good stuff all around, but not the best that was available pre-pandemic. Early 2022, the price is $15 per person and they are super friendly here!
A very cozy and colorful restaurant with a very rich menu. Food was extremely flavourful and well prepared. The owner of the restaurant took extra time to prepare special "Paratha" for us. This place reminded us home. We were very glad to found this gem. We will definitely be back.
Punjabi Indian restaurant, located in University district in Seattle. Restaurant is open full day, you will get alacarte menu from 3pm onwards. Great options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Veg platter is delicious, Tandoori Roti, Paneer Paratha is authentic and delicious, Baingan bartha Eggplant curry with Basmati rice is delicious and goes well with Roti and Pratha. The only problem is Vege Biriyani. It was the worst biriyani ever. It’s not biriyani but curry mixed with vegoans rice. 0/5 for vegetable biriyani. Other vegetarian dishes- 5/5 Service- 5/5 quick and friendly. #Seattle #Washington #IndianFood
Staying overnight in University District and wanted a nice-ish dinner, but it was late on Veterans Day and a lot of places were closed, so I kind of stumbled in here since I’m always a fan of Indian food. The menu really has everything, but I wanted to get something relatively light and the waiter gave me some really helpful suggestions. I ended up going with the Samosa Chat and a Salty Lassi. Everything was perfect and super flavourful. The samosa chat was an explosion of textures and sweet and savoury curry. The lassi was also loaded with spices and was very rich. Definitely the best lassi I’ve tried! Prices are totally fair. The eating area was clean, but the bathroom was, for lack of a better word, dank. The kitchen is located in the same dark back hallway which makes me wonder if it’s kept in the same condition as the dining room of the bathroom. Nothing appeared off about my food though so I can hope it’s the former. It was closing time when I was done eating, and the chef was out helping to clean up after another party and I had the chance to talk with him a little. Like the waiter, he’s a really nice guy and cares about the food. The presentation of the food is very nice but the atmosphere is really casual and unpretentious, and it came out quickly, which made this the perfect place for me, and I would definitely recommend it for a quality meal.
I loved this place when I went to college! Good butter Masala and Chai. I got their weekday special where u get two curries, samosa, Naan, rice pudding for $15 or $16. Really good deal. Buffet is on Friday Saturday Sunday. Will be back!
When craving that tandoori chicken and puffy bread, come here! Open for lunch no buffet...thanks COVID. Get a chai to go to keep you awake after your delicious lunch! Tandoori chicken comes out sizzling on a hot plate .
Their Buffet is unbeatable ! Food taste & quality is delightful. I'd recommend ordering North Indian dishes from here. I personally highly admire their Samosas, Tea , Butter Chicken and Pakoras with Tamarind chutney. I've been going to their weekend buffets almost regularly. Portion size is also well worth the price. My earnest compliments to the chefs and the family owners themselves who run this place.
Aloo Gobhi, basmati rice, garlic naan, and mango lassi. Very nice food. I only stopped eating because i had too. Excellent wait staff. Vegetarian options: Many great vegetarian dishes.
Great food, friendly and clean environment. I have been coming here for years and am always pleased with the delicious food and service. Parking: It’s family and college community friendly. There is parking on the street and in the community blocks
I have been coming here for dinner since before Jewel of India moved in. It’s crazy to think I’ve grown up eating here. While Seattle has a plethora of Indian restaurants Jewel of India is by far my favorite. The family who runs this jewel is so incredibly nice, the food is always delicious and flavorful, and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. I can’t imagine growing up in this city and not having this restaurant around, I’m going to miss this place when I move across the country. Please eat here and give these people your business!
