While doing some mystery shops, I came across this cake vending express shop. I was a bit apprehensive to order a slice of cake from a vending machine, but let me tell you I was so happy that I did. There were many options available from chocolate to carrot. I was so happy they had 2 varieties of funfetti birthday cake. The slice of cake was moderately priced at $9.99 and the recommendation was to serve them at room temperature. The slice that I tried was absolutely heavenly! So dense, rich, thick and decadent. I'll definitely be back and if you haven't tried their cakes, it's time to take a trip to Carlo's Bake Shop!
I feel Carlos would not approve of this. Extreme sweetness has replaced the creamy softness of a fresh cake. Maybe the sugar is extending the shelf life? Uncomfortable to crunch mini sugar particles while eating. Not sure why people think extreme sweetness is a good thing. It’s not. I’d pay even more than $11 for a slice but for something worth it. I wouldn’t eat this again if someone paid me. The second star is because I know it caters to most so I want to be fair.
Bought a slice of cake for $11.50 out of the vending machine. First off there was NO forks in the vending machine beside the cake vending machine as well the cake seemed dry and mass produced, also VERY sweet.! Not sure how often these are filled, I know it says delivered daily but doesn't meen they are all baked fresh. Definitely would not recommend at their prices!!! There is definitely alot of hype around the BRAND, I would rather spend my money at a local bakery!!!!!!!
I don't mind paying for something that's good, but this cake was gross. Way too much sugar. Betty Crockers cake mix is better
I’ve started seeing this brand pop up across malls in the GTA. They finally opened a store front in Mississauga Port Credit area. I was hesitant to try since it’s cake from a vending machine. My coworkers encouraged me to try so I did. I tried the classic birthday cake version. It’s exactly what I expected. A gross artificial tasting vanilla cake and icing. It was so unbearable I couldn’t finished and felt sick after. It leaves a chemical after taste on your tongue. If you enjoy eating oil based whip cream from a can, then you’ll love this cake! The texture and taste is similar to the meh quality you buy from shelf stable cakes at the grocery store. This cake is for you if you enjoy paying a premium watching cake dispense from a fun vending machine. I’m sure the $5 and $10 shelf stable grocery store cakes taste better. Or better yet, save your money and buy a real vanilla cake made with fresh buttercream at one of the many local bakers across the city! They won’t disappoint!
Omg. A slice of heaven, and the coloured stripped ones in chocolate or vanilla look so whimsical. Everyone I know gets a real kick out of receiving these for their birthday. The closest thing I’ve found to that old time Hunts Bakery Birthday cakes back in the day, for those of you that remember.
The cakes are delicious but smaller than expected out of the machine
