Quality is not as good as before and I've been going here for more than 15 years! It used to be a lot better, but I found that over the last few months, this has changed. However, I do like the variety offered here and I find that they offer value for money for the products. This is a place I've been coming to for many many years and even though it is no longer as good as it used to be, I still come because there are some items that I still like. An example is the almond tart. I also like how the products do not contain animal fat. I liked coming here and sitting down to enjoy a cup of tea and some baked goods in the afternoon. Hope I can do that again soon safely. I like the wide range of products offered and find that their cakes aren't too sweet for me. I wish to find more savory items as there's a lot of sweets but not enough to balance it out. They also have a great selection around this time of year and I always like seeing new products in store! I drop by whenever I'm in the area. Note: CASH ONLY.
Their Factory Showcase and store is a heaven for bread lovers - Vegan, Natural, Pumpernickel, Rye and what not. They use 100% natural Spring water. My friend introduced me to this place. They have a cafe and a range of cakes and food to enjoy. It is quite an enjoyable experience to shop there and then sit, eat, chat and have coffee. I like the Quiches if there are any left, pineapple cake and latte. My friend had the fruit cake and pretzel. I say go visit if you have never been. It is walking distance from Kipling Station. Try it sometime.
First visit: 4-stars. Good pastries, almond tart and danish are my fave. However price went up quite a lot. Updated:. Second visit in this trip, very poor service - rude and impatient long face!. No response even after customer responded with request and thank you
Great place for amazing breads, Doughnuts and other treats. I come with the kids and we grab a doughnut and milk and spend an hour just chatting. Lovely place.
A great experience. Excellent bread and pastry products. The sit down area could be more prominent. Seems like a back room. I know about it because I've been there many times. I think others would enjoy the cafe style atmosphere. Excellent wall paintings in the cafe.
Wide variety of breads, donuts, and dessert; fresh and tasty. Nice and friendly staff. I would give them 5 stars if it weren't "only cash". This New Multigrain Bavarian is great.
The cake and cookies are tooo sweet to us and not beautiful, but fortunately the bread is sooooooo good why cash only?????
This place is quite good. I was in the area working for a couple of weeks and stopped by here at least 3 times. So why the 4 stars...they only accept cash which is quite inconvenient and the pricing is quite expensive. Further to that I had a cinnamon roll from there that had a taste of melted plastic and I did bring it to the managers attention a day later I had thrown it away but was asked to bring it back to them. I understand their point of view on that but I also didn't realize I was going to be back the next day Not sure if they took my concern seriously or not. The rest of the items I had purchased were amazing I had the cheese covered pretzels, the filled donuts, a couple of sugar twists, and the danishes. My colleagues also shared in these items, and they were very fresh and flavourful. Definitely worth stopping on of you are in the area. I wish I had taken photos.
Apple custard strudel thick layers are tasty. Not a fan of the apple filling Pretzel
Such a wonderful surprise! Walked in and felt like I was back in Germany! Tried a few varieties of breads & pastries and truly outstanding! I've been back a few times since. Love this gem. Not many old school places like this anymore!
