Quaint & cosy bakery in Etobicoke with really good bread. They have been inoperation since 2006 so it says a lot about their quality. Most of the breads here are simple but really delicious. Highly recommended the potato bagel which has a flaky crust and a warm potato filling. You can also buy frozen pizza dough here.
Definitely my favourite bakery/ cafe in the area. Their famous Tatsu Burger lives up to its signature title, which is a mixed pork & beef burger. They changed the buns but still very tasty and the patty is to die for. I'm not a fan of saucy burger so normally like the steak sauce to be less than their standard but other than that, this burger is my go to when craving carb but still want to be healthy haha Their sweets are perfect to my liking. Definitely go for fruit tart, blueberry cheesecake tart or earl grey roll cake if you don't like the 'super sweet' desserts like in many other cafe. Their homemade mango smoothie is such a bomb, other flavour is good too but mango is my favourite, doesn't have that sweetener taste elsewhere. This bakery/ cafe always make me nostalgic to the time I was back in the UK. They have such an English afternoon tea vibe if you know what I meant. The music selection is very jazzy, sometimes with folk music for sure give you a good break.
If you accidentally select the wrong date for an order from their website, prepare for the owner berating you multiple times and refusing to refund the order. I even offered to pay the cancellation fee that the owner was saying she’d be charged. That still wasn’t enough for her. Only after a lot of persistence did she finally cancel. Absolutely abhorrent behaviour for a genuine mistake. I’ve never been treated like this as a customer
I used to go this place when i was in humber college. They made very decent organic bread and sandwiches. Always recommend them their freshness, reasonable price. I visited here for the first time in 8 years. They still make great great stuffs. Always recommend! I recommend their smoke salmon sandwish and Spinach bagle.
IN LOVE WITH THIS BAKERY!! This cozy little nook has so many options, very friendly and attentive staff and delicious goods!! Bonus: they let you bring/use your own containers and they use pasta as stir sticks! Local family-owned business that makes good stuff AND is taking steps to be environmentally conscious = 5 stars!!
This place is the BEST i don't think i've ever even written a review for anywhere before -- that's how good this shop is. Lovely owners + staff team who always make you smile. Good coffee. They have a delicious Spinach & Feta filled bagel kind of more of a flakier pastry dough texture than a usual store-bought bagel which is to die for. They've also got really reasonably priced specialty breads -- if you're going to try anything, get the Walnut Loaf or their regular Sourdough. Almost every day, they have a basket of day-old baked goods and bread for a great deal, usually only a dollar or two. Their shop has little tables to dine at in a big yellow sun-filled room. They also share local artists' paintings and sell local handmade artisan goods lip balms, jams, greeting cards, etc. I love a good mom n pop shop, and this one is hands down my favourite!!
"Hearting over this sweet little gem in Etobicoke!" What time we arrived/Wait time? I always go here during school humber lakeshore and it is almost always busy during lunch times because of obvious reasons. There is a lot of student seating outside and in the nearby student centres so if it was busy it wasn't an issue to just do take out! Atmosphere? It's a small cafe/bakery type place. It is such a warm atmosphere with lots of yellow and woody tones. It is a simple and sweet place. Service/Staff? The staff here are just amazing. They are all Japanese and I feel somehow related or a family. It feels that way because the way they speak to all their customers and work together is so kind and polite. They put customers first and maintain a lot of close relationships with all their customers who are regulars. They work hard and diligently with a smile. Food/Menu/Pricing? The food here is fantastic. I always get their broccoli soup with a chicken teriyaki sand which. All their breads are fresh and so soft/supple. There is something different about their quality... it is soooooo good. Like bread on steroids lol. The flavours and ingredients are simple and fresh yet they just explode with healthy flavour. This is one of those places you feel good about yourself after you eat their food! They also sell 3rd party items like jam made from scratch from a nearby farm and breadcrumbs, etc. LOVE it here.
Always enjoy coming to this nice, local independent bakery. Mr. Sato and his staff are always so pleasant and welcoming. Plus the bake goods, specialty bread, quiche & their unique Tatsu burger are so tasty. Highly recommend this place and it’s so important to support small local businesses during a difficult time like this. And in addition to this review, I wish to say there is a poor review that a person posted the other week. That person was not happy the shop was closed. Well the shop was closed because they are on vacation that week. There is a noticed posted on the door in plain sight that apologizes for being closed due to summer time off for the owner and staff. The notice states when they will open next week and look forward to serving their customers then. I feel the negative review is unwarranted as the person complaining could easily understand why and mention the shop is closed due to vacation in his/her posting.
The bread is soo light, sooo soft, soo flavourful!! 100% a do again. Note that other Japanese bakeries like in J Town do not compare. this bakery sets the bar much higher. I really appreciate that they have art from local artists up and for sale. This spot has a real community feel as I listened to another guest be greeted by name and a 'We'll see you Wednesday!' as he departed. My daughter dragged me here when she was at school at Humber. We'll get sandwiches and a cookie she insists. At first glance the sandwiches may look like they have a lot of bread but it is so light it is like you have a thin slice. Try the Curry Tuna with Raisins though my daughter swears by the BLT. Today we asked for a loaf sliced to take home. We drove 30 minutes out of our way today to go here. Yes, it is that good. Service is super friendly. I really felt like they were happy to see us and help provide advice with our selections.
I've been to *all* of the best bakeries in Mississauga. Tatsu's is better than all of those. Their potato and spinach bagels are the best - so fresh, flaky and delicious. We tried several of their breads - whole wheat, multigrain, walnut and milk. They have a nice crust and soft interior, overall great textures and flavours. They also stay well for the next day or two. The savoury sandwiches are very tasty, especially the tuna curry. Their plain bread pudding was delectable; it was very moist and full of berries. The piece de resistance is their plain fruit tarts distinct from the chocolate ones, which are custard tarts with loads of berry topping, and are anything but plain. It's worth the drive there from Mississauga just for these. I'll also never leave without one of their berry scones, which are big and crunchy. You must also try the pecan tart and cheesecakes. None of the baked goods are too sweet, which is a rarity amongst bakeries.
