What a fantastic meal. There were 5 of us and we each ordered an appetizer and main and every one of us absolutely loved our dishes. Truly one of the best meals I've had in Ottawa. And we had fantastic service. Our water was incredibly attentive but not overbearing. The ambiance is also very nice. We went on a Sunday night so it was mostly empty and quiet, which was nice. Menu changes frequently except for their mushroom appetizer which was outstanding. We will definitely go back again soon.

We had visited this location twice before when it was "Burnt Butter" The experience and the food at that restaurant was enough to keep us away. We were hesitant to visit Carben but are so happy we did!!! From the moment that we walked in, we noticed a huge change....there was heat!!! Although the evening was very cold and we sat right beside the windows, we were cozy warm. The attention to detail is amazing. The service was just wonderful, from the beginning right until we walked out the door. But most of all, the food was absolutely delicious. There were three of us and we had the octopus & the Mushrooms for an appetizer and then the Vegetable tart, Scallops and the Cornish Hen for our mains. All of them were perfectly cooked and the presentation was simply beautiful. I look forward to going to this restaurant again, Thanks for a great evening!!!

This was honestly one of the best culinary experiences of my life! My friend and I were greeted by Patrick and his colleague (sadly I don't remember his name!) from the get-go. Once seated, Patrick went over the menu, offered recommendations, and answered any questions we had. I had the Squash as an appetizer - it was so beautifully presented and well described by Patrick. My friend had the wood ear mushrooms and they were to die for! Both plates had wonderful texture and flavour. As our entrees, I had the vegetable tarte which did not disappoint, and my friend had the Cornish hen. Both were simply amazing. We finished our meal off with the gingerbread cake. All in all, this was definitely one of the best meals I've ever had, and my friend felt the same. I would highly recommend visiting Carben for any occasion - the foods is wonderful, drinks are excellent, and the service is second-to-none! I can't wait to go back!

The service was impeccable. Our server Pat was super knowledgeable about the wine, the menu and the pairings. The food was sublime with outstanding flavour combinations and beautiful presentation. We enjoyed the wood ear mushrooms appetizer, BC Snapper, striploin, and ginger dessert. Everything was superb and we made ourselves eat slowly to savour it. Highly recommended.

Great ambiance with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was presentation was excellent and food was so delicious that it left you wanting more. Pricing for the dessert was a bit on the high end but the rest of the menu was reasonably priced. Can't wait for my next visit.
