If I could give this place a -5 I seriously would! When there are plenty of options out there for consumers to shop, one would think that exceptional customer service would be something they would want to provide to retain that customer for life. Sadly for one specific employee that's not the case. Today is the second time I had a run in with this bigger woman with a British accent at the customer (dis)service desk. I bought an external battery about a month ago which is still within the return policy period. It did not perform to our satisfaction and all I wanted to do was return it for another one that would perform better (hopefully). Without even hearing me out, she was adamant on the fact that because it's been opened, they cannot take it back, referring to the store's refund policy. I asked her repeatedly to show where it says that on the receipt and that I wanted to speak with a manager but she outright refused. She's one miserable woman stuck in a dead end job!! If I were her employer, she would be fired before her first day on the job! Never shopping at this store again!

This particular Canadian Tire has the worst customer service I have ever encountered and I avoid buying there unless no other CTC stores have the product I need. I watched as a lady tried to return a childs bike that they had assembled and was defective. Because the box had been opened to assemble the bike, the customer service rep refused to give her another bike to replace it and insisted that it would have to go through the warranty department. Obviously, the only way to know the bike was defective was to assemble it and try riding it, so it should have been a no-brainer just to replace the bike. When the woman called her husband to explain what was happening, the woman service rep told her that if her husband showed up to complain, that she would call the police and have him banned from the store. I have never seen such rude customer service anywhere and I wish that I had filmed the incident with my camera to upload to YouTube. The rep should have been fired but for all I know, it was the manager or relative of the manager. This happened about 3 years ago but I have never forgotten it and the bad taste it left in my mouth for that store.

UPDATE After Contacting head office I was able to speak with the manager of Canadian Tire .... We had a meeting and he was very professional. He did try suggesting that this worker is the best they have and is usually very good to customers ..... I stated that if I came into the store and stole something I'd be banned .... no warnings or 2nd chance ..... in my situation her actions don't deserve a second chance as they were extremely rude. However since my conversations with this management I've had a few dealing with her and she has been very nice and in my opinion acted as a manager should ... Thank you for the time to express my issue and I'll continue being a customer. I hope this never happens again Very disappointed with the overall experience at this store. I've never been disrespected by a manager like I here. The customer service Manager yelled at my father and me and when I asked "why are you yelling" her answer was "because I can"............ it was very embarrassING and very uncalled for . It's also sad that there's open reviews on the same manager that works a customer service and how rude aND disrespectful she is and still works at the store. Tells the customers that canadian tire has no care about their own policy posted on the wall or the customer. I've contacted a lawyer

Such a terrible customer service... If I could, I would've given them 0 stars. I asked the sports desk about an item and the kid working there literally rolled his eyes and asked "seriously?" And loudly! I apologized and told him sorry if it's a dumb question he then just walks away from me! That's ridiculous, and to make it worse, I went to the customer service desk to speak to a store manager, customer service lady told me a manager will be down right away. I waited 15 mins then asked again only for her to tell me that the general manager was in a meeting. Like seriously?Why couldn't you tell them to start with. Will never come back.
