Visited Jan 20th with a complication in getting a pain medication injection. The issue is not yet resolved but want to say thank you to the front-end staff for their efforts in helping me out. Update, Jan 25th....thank you for finding another location to get my cortisone injection

I've had injections done at the Sherwood Park location in the past and found it to be very good. I've even recommended it to others. Recently though, I tried to book some injections again and it was a horrible experience with the call centre. I have 3 I have to get done. The woman promptly told me I'd have to make 3 appointments and trips. I asked if anything could be done as we are driving from out of town and before I could get my whole question out, she hung up. I called back and explained to the 2nd person that the 1st lady just hung up and she laughed. I asked what was so funny and then asked for a supervisor. She told me there are no supervisors and still thought it was funny. We need to contact our health minister about the decline of their customer service. Maybe the health minister should call the call centre and see for themselves what kind of customer service the public is receiving. Is it because they have such a large government contract now, they think they are untouchable and can do what they want? They can be the only game in town. I will start finding an alternative I guess. ***UPDATE*** Phoned the response I received below, left a message and my return name and number. Never heard from them again or received a return call. Thanks!
I came today for two ultrasound and had a very pleasant experience. Firstly the ladies at the front desk where so nice. The young lady doing my ultrasound was so nice and very gentle during the procedure. For my second ultrasound the young man was also very polite and very good at what he does. Overall a very welcoming environment, will recommend this place to everyone.
What a difference 8 days makes! I took my 88 yr old mother in on the 7th of January for her left SI injection and the young Asian nurse at the front desk was friendly and helpful, greeting us kindly, asking us politely to sanitize, taking my cell # and calling me when my mother was done as non-patients are discouraged from sitting in the waiting area. She told me nicely I could if I filled out a form, but it was half full so I chose to wait in my car instead. Another lovely, friendly nurse escorted Mom and met me at the door when she was finished. I am extremely grateful to these two wonderful, caring nurses who are glowing examples to their profession. Two weeks later, the identical time appointment, 10:05 am, we attended for her right SI joint. We were confronted by a rude young blond nurse before we had a chance to take a step inside telling me to "put HER mask on properly and sanitize before approaching the desk" in an unnecessarily confrontational tone. When I was told I had to leave, I asked if I could fill out a form and sit inside as I was told I could the previous visit. I was told absolutely NOT even though there wasn't a soul in the waiting area that day. I commented that it was cold outside and she suggested I wait in the foyer of Athabasca Place rather than my car. I said okay but asked that she then take my cell # and call me to fetch my mother when she was done as the last nurse had no trouble doing and she snottily said she would "try". That made me angry. My mother has moderately-severe dementia. She has no cell phone and I'm not allowed in the clinic. And I was certain this nasty nurse didn't care. And I was right! I sat outside in the car fearing I would miss my mother and sure enough I eventually saw her come walking out, alone, into the cold, not the foyer of Athabasca Place, where the nurse assumed I was sitting, coat undone, no gloves, looking confused, not an idea in the world where she might be headed or where I was. And NO ONE, had had the courtesy to escort her or call me that she was done and ready to be fetched. You certainly expect more from the nursing community, particularly with elderly, infirm patients when their families have to give them into their care during this pandemic. Shame, shame on these nurses on January 19th!! We have been to this location on several occasions but this episode has shocked me and is meant to be cautionary to anyone who takes an elderly patient to this clinic.
I had my mammogram and ultrasound done on the same day, on time, less procedure time than expected. the staff was very gentle and friendly during the procedure.
When I booked my sons appointment over the phone the agent knew fully that he needed to have 3 different body parts to be x-rayed. Get to our appointment and was rudely told the one part would not have an x-ray. Only 2 parts per appointment. Not happy at all! Why did the lady on the phone say all 3 would be done?? Now I have to book more time off work. The lady that checked us in was not very friendly.
I will NOT be returning here and would advise others to find somewhere else to go! I went in and the lady at the front desk dark shoulder length hair barked at me to sanitize before I even reached the sanitizer station. I handed her my requisition and she told me flat out she had to call my doctor to confirm the tests I needed. EVEN THO THEY WERE PLAINLY STATED ON THE REQUISITION. Everyone knows your not gonna be able to call a doctor office and be able to speak directly with a doctor anytime soon! This lady was EXTREMELY RUDE. I took my requisition to insight across the street and never had a problem.
Rude! Demanded I sanitize my hands. I have contact dermatitis and cannot use sanitizers. She said you'll have to wash your hands...again, contact dermatitis, I have to use a special medicated soap. "I'm sorry, but I cannot serve you, you just touched the door on your way in" she said. I didn't, I cant, I cant touch anything because of my skin condition and that risk alone makes me not touch anything. I only came in to ask a question because I sat on hold over 20 mins. I kept my space from her with a mask on. She couldn't even answer my questions and just sent my husband, who is disabled and not easily mobile, across the road to Insight just because she couldn't handle me not being able to sanitize to make her feel better. I wish I got her name. She was extremely unprofessional and lacking any understanding of medical conditions. Ironic.
From the front desk staff to the ultrasound staff they provided great care and friendly service.
