Story

The Calgary Parking Authority fulfills the City of Calgary’s parking mandates and implement the municipality’s parking policies by managing on- and off-street public parking facilities, enforcement programs and providing parking advisory services.

We operate without using any tax revenues and each year we contribute a portion of our net revenue back to the City. In 2011, this amounted to over $19.5M and was used to provide city services like recreation services, libraries and pathways.

EDIT * Please see my latest review under Jamal. This ticket was cancelled and for months i had no issues when suddenly they decided it was an issue again.

I got a parking ticket for parking too close to the intersection, I have a picture of my unmoved car exactly how it sat at the time of the ticket attached to this review. Can you please explain to me the rules for parking near an intersection and how I violated them? 

Gladly will adjust my review with a good response, 

Insult to injury (I know it sounds ridiculous) but the parking authority officer saw me park here then drove off, parked about a block away. At this point I went inside and came out to find a ticket (could have easily told me not park there.)

Update- I Appreciate the response and have no problem paying a legitimate ticket but I honestly feel there is no grounds for a ticket here. (there is a stop sign across the street but nothing on the side I parked! ) I already emailed an appeal with the picture I took and its been days not hearing back.

Final Update- So CPA reviewed my ticket, and decided to cancel it. Which is great! A little concerning what the officer was thinking issuing the ticket in the first place, I have been watching that same parking spot and seen others getting a very similar ticket....oh well I won't be parking there anymore

Thanks. You're the best kind of humans. If there is any way I can assist you in helping yourself to my hard earned dollars so you can plow massive ice chunks on to my sidewalk and driveway that i shoveled three times during an epic snowfall and then give me a ticket, PLEASE DO NOT HESTITATE TO ASK! I am here to serve you.

For those of you who can't see the photo I am parked probably 10 meters or so from the curbside corner of the intersection with no signage or other infractions. Yet I was cited with obstructing the intersection. 

SOO glad my tax dollars are paying for these clowns to roam around with no common sense or understanding of why they do what they do. Makes you really wonder about their motivation $$$.

Update* I did appeal the ticket and they blankly decided I was obstructing the intersection. Its quite a leap to suggest that given my photo.Thank you for extorting $40 from pocket and at least in this case doing nothing to ensure fairness and safety.

Tax dollars hard at work!

See my other review to learn this exact ticket, in the exact spot was cancelled by them this summer (2017). Suddenly it is an issue again. I even sent the the appeal ruling and pictures of my last ticket and they decided not to reverse their decision.

No stars.  Paid for two vehicles at the same time at the same pay station.  Both parked on the same street.  Got a ticket for one vehicle and no ticket for the other.  When I appealed they have no record of my first vehicle in their system, god forbid it could be a system error?  Nope they still want their $40 anyway.  Just a cash grab, they know $40 isn't worth anyone's time to fight in court.  I will park in private parking and walk 10 miles before I give one more cent to Calgary Parking Authority.

Have called over five times for a vehicle left in a no-parking zone for weeks. Enforcement has only come once to issue ticket. The other times it does not arrive at all or no action is taken. CRA - do your jobs, don't waste my tax money. Bylaws are not enforced anyway, so why bother.
