Finally solved the mystery of the red bridge. It’s indeed located in Prince’s Island Park, along with other pedestrian bridges.nnNice place to walk around and get some steps in for those counting your 10,000 steps a day. I’d come back here, for sure!
Many geese with their babies around, unsafe zone : Lucky to find an easy parking spot, but shouldn’t be that easy usually, maybe due to long weekend. Fortunately, could use the spot to see downtown, Peace Bridge, Stephen Avenue and Devonian Gardens, as well. Good zone to walk for half an hour, other than that nothing else to do over there.
This intermediary in between north and south is an amazing place for viewing downtown, fireworks, horizon, kayaking, swimming etc and on the city centre. The only prob is the distance you have to travel from LRT and the walk back. Has many pedestrian bridges which are in parallel to car bridges connecting the North and South in between the Bow river
This beautiful park is situated right in the heart of downtown. I have been in calgary for few years now. Princes island is still my favourite park to visit. It is always bumping. Lots of places to relax or to have picnic or go for a jog. Connecting paths will lead you from bridge to the another. You can spend all day walking. They have food trucks most of the times. There is always some kind of events or concerts happening here. Make me happy every-time i get to spend some quality time here.nnWith the sudden influx of Migrants, i have seen the quality of parks in yyc deteriorate. Empty tim horton cups, dumped mattresses, suitcases, grocery carts, needles; you name it. Whereas Princes island continues to maintain the clean and safe environment for the visitors. Thats also a reason it’s my go-to park. Hats off to the workers here and thank you for keeping our parks clean.
The park is spacious with well-maintained trails, seating areas by the Bow River, an open amphitheater, and a great view of the Calgary high-rises.
