My wife and I celebrated an anniversary and Cal's came recommended by someone I know. The restaurant was busy but that's a good indication that people love this. The food that passed us as we waited to be seated looked amazing. When we finally got our food you can see in my pictures that our food was amazing. We had a very nice time and the service seemed very good. Even though there was so many people the food did not take forever to get to us but was actually brought to us pretty quick given how busy they were. They did a good job at keeping the place clean as well. I always look to see how well restaurants keep their place clean. This is a great restaurant in the food is really good.
Perfect sized portions nicely prepared & presentation was well done. Ambiance, soft music hints in the background; that didn't drown out the murmur of guests in a lovely setting that is warm and inviting. Helpful wait staff no hurry and no excessive wait time's between courses. Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair accessibility albeit only a spots
Sorry locals 3.5 stars for me. Food was fine. Nothing mind blowing. Party of 5. All had a variety of dishes and all had the same opinion. I think I should have tried the pizza. That looked really good. Service ok, our server did make 3-4 mistakes with our orders. Seemed more dismissive than apologetic. Price is fine. Definitely a local favorite, just didn’t blow us away.
My wife and I went on Memorial Day and had the four-course prix-fixe menu. We thought for $25 it was an exceptional value. Our waiter was very friendly and did a phenomenal job.
Great place with average level food. We stopped by for lunch a day before valentines day and wanted to experience their food and customer service! They have pretty large parking and enough space for everyone Entrance and customer welcoming is pretty good, bar seating and all other separated rooms/ areas are fantastic for family and group parties I recommend you call for reservations if you are coming for a special night Servers were pretty expert and responsive, they know what they are doing! tnx! Food menu needs a huge improvement, not all wines are available for 6 or 9oz glass choice, you have limited choice on glass wine order Appetizers/starters are something usual and did not see anything special other than oyster choices Salad & soup I did not like the salad serving, design and quality! But chowder was the best wooow Stone pie’s! You gotta kidding! No way, are you serious? We ordered two stone pie pizza , Margarita and Tuscan pepperoni, got our orders and I felt i am eating frozen pizza! Plus, it was cold, didn’t complain because everything was good except pizza part Not sure how you call your restaurant Wood Fire, perhaps just because of fire place at the entrance? am I correct? hopefully not! However, everything was pretty good except pizza part, I did not like it because of quality, texture, taste and coldness ! Dessert part was pretty good, limited options with good quality! My dessert was warmer than my pizza you can imagine! Anyway, everyone deserves a second chance! Cal's is a good choice! Place located at 1068 Riverdale Street in West Springfield, Massachusetts. I will update this review when I check this place again and try something else from their menu.
Excellent wine list and waiter. Chicken parm was excellent, chicken was fresh and large. Would go back again to try other dishes. Great atmosphere in the dining room and bar section.
Great place with good food. We went here a few time with the most recent time was for a birthday party. The food was great! They have a full bar, plenty of seating and an upper level for private functions. The staff was great as always. Every visit here has been great, and if you're looking for a great dining experience Cal's is a great choice! Located at 1068 Riverdale Street in West Springfield, Massachusetts. I will post more pics next visit.
A hidden gem in western mass. Always great food and service. Lunch fixed price salad, main course, and dessert is one of the best values in town.Food: 4/5
Don’t let the parking lot deceive you. This is a 4-5 star restaurant. I came in with mid level expectations and left thinking I had to leave them a review. The food is wonderful the fish and rice I had was cooked perfectly, the service is spectacular, Jay our server dealt with a crying baby, a feeding baby, and some picky eaters and didn’t bat an eye, and the atmosphere is equally as nice nice. I am a Pennsylvanian and would recommend anyone in this areas to Cal’s.
I went here with my grandparents and boyfriend to celebrate my birthday! I thought the inside was so lovely and private when seated in a booth. The food was delicious! Wide variety of drinks and food. The waitress was beyond kind and attentive. Would definitely go back!
