Cafe Rio Mexican Grill

We went through the drive thru so I can’t comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant.. With that said I was pleasantly surprised with my Barbacoa Nachos see photo attached today about 11:30 am! They were great tasting and perfect. There were a couple of things I want to mention, nothing major, regarding the chips. They were cooked to perfection but every now and then I bit into a chunk of salt and then the next bite I would take would have no salt at all that’s why I gave them a 4 star rating on the food part. Another thing I wanted to mention is the little cup of creamy chipotle sauce that was on top of the plastic package/box it was small for $1.49 but was packed full of flavor! I was pleasantly surprised that it stretched all through the dish! It was just right, not too spicy and not too sweet! At first glance I was thinking “I paid $1.49 extra for this?” But I was wrong! It was perfect. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend the Barbacoa Nachos to anyone! Good job Cafe Rio!!

So this is really disappointing, at least for me, because I usually LOVE Cafe Rio. I have eaten here 3 times now, and what is it they say about repeating the same things again and again expecting different results? We'll that is totally this. Each time I've been here, the food is just not good. Sorry to say, however, the employees run this place like a well-oiled machine and are awesome! The atmosphere is nothing special like at all, but I don't really care as long as the place is clean. I probably won't go back to this cafe Rio.

It was our 1st time and the food was great!. I was disappointed that the servers were not good at explaining their special items, they didn't even try. I saw some coconut shrimp in the steam table, I had already ordered but wanted a few shrimp as an appetizer just to taste them and the.server told me they could not sell them as an appetizer only in a burrito. I asked about their specialty drinks and they pointed to the fountain drinks. The food was tasty though and I got $5 off for downloading the app.

It is good. I wouldn't recommend this place for some authentic Mexican food. It is Americanized Mexican food. Which has its place. If you want spices and tastes of Mexican food. This is not it. But it is fairly quick.

This is the worst Cafe Rio location I have visited. I have been here a few times with less than great experiences, but today takes the cake.nWe went in about 45 minutes before close. There were 2 or 3 people working when we first walked in, then after the line for longer, 4 more people appeared from the back. They were out of all specialty drinks, some fountain drinks, sweet pork, and taco tortillas.nThey were actively making large tortillas but they were triangles. Lettuce was swimming in water which made anything it came on soggy, food was cold, and the bathrooms were gross.nThe only good part about our visit was the lady cleaning tables. She was kind and thoughtful to bring us more napkins when we were out.
