Applebee’s Grill + Bar

Pretty typical Applebee's. There was a nice painting of their local indoor amphitheater. I came from out of town and was staying at the Best Western next door. Came in for a couple drinks with my dad. The manager clued us in on drink specials and even gave us a free beer when he accidentally poorer the wrong beer for someone else. Service as great and the poors were very fair for a chain restaurant. Big plus for having Hop Valley beer on tap. Its a local brewery from southern Oregon (my home state) and I was very pleasantly surprised to see not one, but two of their beers on tap. Bathrooms were nice and clean.

Sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly, but the food was severely lacking. I ordered a steak (medium) and baked potato. The steak, while still tender was well past medium, and the potato tasted like it had been cooking since the first settlers drove off the native peoples. At first I thought I just got a bit of burnt skin but after a second bite and a thorough probing with my fork I had to completely abandon any thought of enjoying the skin. I wasn't immediately concerned because the potato was huge so I thought I could be satisfied with just flesh. Unfortunately despite the large portion of butter and sour cream they piled on I discovered the dryness of the skin went much deeper. Applebee's on the whole is a fine company and I've had many good experiences at some of their other establishments. I don't even hold a grudge against this one; perhaps I was just was unlucky in my choice of meal that night. However if you do ever find yourself visiting this establishment perhaps try the fries or maybe nice salad.

Very good service when the place is not too busy. They have a great selection of food and appetizers. They serve alcholic beverages and a nice selection of desserts to choose from.

I and my wife enjoyed the 2 for 25. The only thing I had t problems with I felt that the potato was under cooked. But that was just me.

Decent food and service. Polite staff. Somewhat of a sports bar atmosphere.
