Burnaby Palace Restaurant

I am not a fan of Chinese food and only went there for a friend's birthday celebration thinking to myself that surely I could find something on the menu I could eat. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ordered the dinner for three and everything was fresh and hot and delicious and above all the restaurant was very clean. I might even come back.

Unfortunately our experience was poor. We ordered 6 dishes. The only vegetables we received in the dishes was button mushrooms, onions, and broccoli. One dish was Buddhas vegetables it was their specialty. Meat dishes included limited meat and lots of button mushrooms, onions and broccoli. Good luck will not reorder again.

Really disappointed with the customer service! We ordered 4 dishes, 1 of which was ginger beef. We did not enjoy the ginger beef and shared our disappointment with our server. So, disappointed in fact that we didn't even want to take it home for our son and it was basically an untouched plate. The server just took our plate, placed it in their dish tub. They did not adjust the bill ($15 for the ginger beef) or acknowledge our disappointment. In fact, as she was walking away, she stated it was one of their most popular dishes!

Really good Chinese cuisine. I am going here for more than 15 years and they have been constantly good. We especially like their hot and sour soup that they can serve just mildly hot and without the pork and the vegetarian crispy Chow mein. The restaurant is pretty large so it can accommodate a big party. They have a separate room downstairs for something like 20 people and another one upstairs for larger parties. The staff is friendly and they try to accommodate your requests even though most times we just cannot get them to bring all food at the same time, probably because the kitchen is not that big?

Great Chinese food restaurant that's been around for ages. The food is always consistent and the place is very clean inside. Great selection on the menu and very friendly staff. My go to place for Chinese food.
