Great ambiance, stellar service, delicious appetizers - but haven’t scored a slam dunk with the mains yet! This was my second time here and we returned because we had such a great experience sitting at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and knows his stuff. We ordered the duck poutine and the tartare - two must haves. My partner really enjoyed the steak frites both times, but between the chicken and the duck I haven’t yet found the main dish worth writing home about. Nevertheless, I’m sure we’ll be back. It’s tucked away on Dundas and a great spot for date night or dinner with friends.
Great new French Resturant on Dundas west, Chef always delivers with his unique style and delicious food. Love the ambiance of the place and attention to detail. Definitely coming back for the fall/winter menu!
Steak tartare is flavored so well! We ordered the duck and rack of lamb for main dishes. Both of them are tender and delicious. The chef came to our table sending greet and thanks at the end of our meal. Appreciate the food and service here!
The food was good and tasty. Service is just about fine with this authentic and fancy-ish French style setting. The door is wide open and to be honest, many flies were around. There was one fly got into one of the water cups on our tables. The sever did not make it up for this and take much action which is a bit disappointed and beyond my expectation. They basically just changed the cup and that’s about it. Plus, we brought in a birthday cake and there was NO Heads-up at all that they will CHARGE the “cake fee” PER person for 6 bucks each which is not professional at all. They explained that this was a “standard restaurant charging rules” which I don’t get it. If you don’t care about the service or unexpected charges, the food is good. But I won’t come back again for paying this such service and environment.
Chef Adjey is back. Beautiful dinner @bouffe_toronto So I finally made it out to check out the @davidadjey newest creation. The place is very quaint with a cozy feel. Service tonight was very good and I would give out waiter a 5 star for details and service. The wine selection was small but very sufficient. The cocktails were nicely done. The food was a hit and some misses. The oysters were fresh and well presented. The croquet was very good. The lobster bisque was not very good but I am guessing they missed some seasoning. Thr steak tartare was incredible and is highly recommend. Chef has tried to reinvent some dishes and some were real successful plates and some were not my taste but were well done for the most part. I am going to say stick with the classics and you wont be disappointed. Im giving this place a 4 out of 5.
We had a delightful chefs table experience with Chef Adjey. Our night was full of delicious surprises and enlightening discussions with the chef about his creations. We would definitely return.
We decided to give this place a try the day after Valentine's and it was definitely an experience. When we reserved online there was an option for a Valentine course menu but we found out afterwards that wasn't the case, I guess they just didn't update the site in time? The service was very slow, it took a while for us to get our order in and longer for the actual food to arrive. However our servers were very nice and it was probably busy/understaffed that day. Food was good though we had a few issues. We got the oysters to share, they were nice and fresh. I got the steak tartare and unfortunately they forgot the quail egg so it was dry. I also ordered the steak frites which was really delayed due to a mix-up in the kitchen but it turned out delicious. We were given the creme brulee to make up for the wait, honestly some of the best we've ever had. If it was just the food, although pricey, this place would definitely be 5 stars!
We were seated at the bar, at our request and greeted promptly. Our server spoke to us about the drink menu and we started with cocktails. Both were unique and well balanced. Our server took the time to guide us through the entire menu, romancing each dish as he went. We decided to share a charcuterie board, steak tartare, and their feature crudo tuna. Plating was beautiful and elegant and flavours did not disappoint. Chef David Adjey took the time to come and speak with us and could be seen delivering food to guests in the dining room. Very passionate team with a warm atmosphere and impeccable food.
My partner and I went here a week ago 09/09/22 for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. We ordered the oysters, lobster croquette, steak tartar, and the swordfish. All of which was delicious, especially with the champagne cocktails we had. The service was incredible, the waitress the bartender were both very friendly and funny, which added to the experience. At the end of the meal the Chef even came to thank us for visiting. Will definitely be back.
WORST RESTAURANT I'VE EVER TRIED. 1. Food was over-priced - portion was very small - you can tell that they skimpt out on ingredients. My Bouillabaisse marseillaise was $39, but it only came with a chunk of white fish & 1 shrimp. It had very thin slice of baguette. I've never seen such a sad Bouillabaisse marseillaise before. 2. Service was absolutely terrible. So many red flags. - we ordered meat dish and didn't get a steak knife. - wanted to order 2 apps to share, but waitress kept insisting us to get 3 apps, even though we all ordered sufficient mains as well. - we were told we had to leave by 8pm but got our food around 7:45. They didn't kick us out eventually, but wondering if we actually had to leave by 8. 3. We were charged with mandatory 18% tip on our bill without us knowing. They said it was because we had a large group. We were only a group of 5 and didn't think this was a huge group. Our waitress continued to say that it was because we were sharing food and splitting the bill, that's also why the 18% was added onto our bill. This never happened to me, so I was shocked it applied at this place.
