Feed your body & your mind! Opened in 1998, the Book Trader Cafe is an independent used bookstore and cafe in the heart of the Yale University campus. Contact us for information on catering your next event or selling your library!

Story

The Book Trader Cafe offers a range of delicious gourmet sandwiches, coffees, and homemade soups & pastries as well as gently used, conservatively priced books for the general or academic reader. Vegan & gluten-free options are available daily.

A TALE OF TWO TURKEYS:
A) Oven-roasted turkey w/ swiss cheese, coleslaw & russian dressing on onion rye (featured on the Travel Channel's "Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America!")
B) Smoked turkey w/ orange-cranberry chutney & field greens on sourdough

HAMINGWAY & CHEESE: Honey-baked ham, fresh mozzarella, romaine lettuce & honey mustard on a pumpernickel roll

MELVILLE'S TUNA F'ISHMAEL: Housemade tuna salad, romaine & tomatoes on an onion roll

MEMOIRS OF A CHICKEN: Pulled chicken salad in a light-spicy peanut dressing w/ field greens on sourdough

JANE RARE: Rare roast beef, goat cheese, horseradish mayo & field greens on a ciabatta roll

SENSE & SENSI-BLT: Applewood smoked bacon, romaine, tomatoes & horseradish mayo on toasted sourdough

TEMPESTO: Fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, tomatoes & balsamic vinaigrette on a ciabatta roll

VONNEGUT'S VEGGIES (Nothing Slaughtered Here!): Oven-roasted veggies & caramelized onions served hot w/ brie cheese on multigrain

FEAST OF EDEN: Housemade lentil-quinoa veggie patty served hot w/ tomatoes, field greens & house "special sauce" on toasted ciabatta (VEGAN)

We offer a full complement of espresso-based drinks (hot or iced), hot bagged teas, cold bottled beverages, fresh-brewed iced teas, fresh-squeezed OJ & lemonade...and hot apple cider.


*** A MOVEABLE FEAST ***

Returnable or disposable platters, carafes and boxed lunches are available for catering. Minimum $5 surcharge for delivery; please give us at least 24 hours notice.
