If I could give 0 stars, I would give 0 stars. I'll try to make a long story short here:nnA few years ago my mortgage was up for renewal. My wife and I made an appointment with Lacey Brackett to discuss the renewal.nnAt the time, we had a Home Equity Line of Credit that we used for renovations, etc. Always paid the balance off, and always made sure we didn't borrow a lot of money at a time. During the mortgage renewal appointment, Lacey brought up that we should move our HELOC into a Home Owners Readyline and bring the mortgage into it as well. We thought it was a good idea, but I expressed that I did not want this to affect my credit score in a huge way. I questioned whether or not this would go against our credit utilization as having a mortgage against it would raise the utilization exponentially. Lacy assured me that it would not affect my credit score in a big way, and if it did, then it would be minor and would level out within a few months. That was false.nnWe went ahead and moved the mortgage over to the Home Owners Ready line, and within a month my credit score dropped 70points. 70 POINTS! The credit utilization on my account skyrocketed.nnFast forward to today's date, and the issue still isn't resolved. I've been told by customer service that it's going to be hard to prove that the information I was given was incorrect, essentially a he said, she said scenario. On top of all of this, this bank does NOT keep it's phone appointments, as I've had 2 come and go just in the last week with no one reaching out to me.nnI do not recommend this branch, or at this point BMO at all for any services. Clearly they do not have the expertise that they advertise, nor do they have a shred of customer service. They won't own up to their mistakes, or even provide some kind of restitution for their mistakes. 0 accountability. At this point, I will be looking at moving all of my accounts to another bank entirely.
Worse Branch in Canada.nnLaura Clark Assistent manager is terrible to deal with.She is rude, unprofessional and never available. She literally stoped my bank payment because she through it may be a fraud transaction situation. Why have a two step authentication plus account numbers & passwords a mile long if they just block you from paying a bill.Not sure what she is smoking over there but fraudsters don’t pay bills to Investment accounts IE: Other Canadian Banks !!!!! This is just a very poor attempt for this bank to keep your business..
Not the best customer service. Was told an account would take 10 days to open now they tell me 3 months. I was told 10 days from the manager and now the staff is telling me 3 months.nMaybe they should get their stories straight.nSo I call them today and tell them I want the original cheque back so I can go to another bank and all of a sudden I can't have the cheque either. So in my eyes they are stealing from me.
bmo has scammed me out of 200+ dollars recently i had my account info taken and reported my card as stolen i reported it instantly approximately 3 days before any money was taken out and so then we start a fraud investigation which now they tell me i won’t be getting any of my money back when it is there fault that they didn’t turn my card off. terrible bank they went on to also give me to new debit cards and they both didn’t work only my bank app would work with them do not bank with bmo it’s a bunch of dummys that do not know what they’re doing
Do not waste your time with this bank. They give you the wrong information and don’t tell you everything you need to bring to your appointment until you get there. As someone who deals with multiple banks, I highly recommend RBC as I’ve never had this problem with them.
