I got there at 12:40 as a walk in they told me i will need to wait until 2:30-3:00 for the afternoon shift.. at 1:30 i asked the girl if she had a waiting list already that I want to sign in she said she didn’t because it was too early so I told her I will go for a coffee I’ll be back , I came back after 20 min and I saw her sit close to her she didn’t say anything I guess she left and when I approached again to ask for the list they already had 7 people before me !! Just because she couldn’t or didn’t want to write my name I had to wait for more than 5 hours there!! Horrible service !!! Besides a doctor didn’t show up the service was very slow..
I was going to this clinic regularly when I burnt my hand, as I needed to change the dressing almost daily. The staff and doctors are really nice, at least, I didn’t have any issues with my experience.nnThe only and potentially one of the most important things for most is that there is a really long wait. I didn’t have an issue with waiting but it could have taken up to 3h. There are no appointments but I would recommend to come as early as possible and get your spot in the line. They will tell you approximately the time for you to come back and you may leave or sit and wait for your appointment. Also, if you need a follow up with doctor try to ask at the reception desk if you could make a follow up appointment, which might save you some time next time
After having read the reviews, I had mixed feelings about coming here but did was a 1.5 hr drive. I am very thankful for the staff here. I came at about 12:30 for a walk-in as a new patient with an expired health card I paid out of pocket on a Wednesday and was seen shortly after. I feel very sorry for the staff here, and understand the bad reviews now. I would like to address some of the negative reviews that I read before coming here, and preface this with the fact that I avoid going if possible and I strongly prefer natural treatments and am skeptical of most pharmaceutical treatments:nn1. regarding Dr. Dziewaltowska-Gintowt: I was seen by her, she did notice I wasn't wearing a mask, went and got one and came back and gave it to me, no fuss. She was straightforward, asked a couple of questions re: the form she was filling out online, I explained my symptoms, and she made a joke and comforted/ encouraged me. I came feeling very anxious and left feeling very thankful. She was kind, to the point. I have a feeling that people are expecting something like a soap opera Dr., and real life is simply not like that.nn2. The receptionists: the two filipina girls who have been gien poor reviews were very kind and even when there were rude and demanding customers, they were courteous and showed class in not pointing out their lack of decorum but rather trying their best to suit their needs. Yes, they took a longer time to answer an email and the phone, but they are busy, this is unfortunately how it is everywhere unless you have a special family doctor, this is not their fault but rather a bad system overall that is inefficient re: healthcare CanadannI have realized that some people writing these bad reviews do not realize that for medical emergencies, you are to go to the hospital emergency or call an ambulance. I understand that the Canadian hospitals are not always run well and you can end up in Emerg for hours, but that is not the fault of the walk-in clinic doctors and staff. Unfortunately, they also work for this bad system.nn3. Complaint of treatment: I've read some reviews complaining about the treatment received. I understand wanting to make sure health concerns are addressed, however, from what I have read, the Drs have provided excellent, realistic, advice.nnexample 1: review stating that they had green mucus and everyone knows that means an infection needing antibiotics- this is not true. It is an indication of infection, but as the Dr. had told the patient, the best remedy would be water and waiting for the infection to subside. Antibiotics destroy not only the bad bacteria but the good as well, and this can be incredibly difficult to replenish and can impact you for years to come if you previously had a healthy microbiome and then try to replenish with probiotics, etc.nnexample 2: someone complained that the Dr. told them to go off steroid cream and go on allergy cream and they were shocked they had a rash. If the Dr. thinks it is an allergy, it is in the patient's best interest to be off steroid cream which is not good for you unless necessary.nnI am in no way affiliated with this clinic, I just feel sorry for them and want people to know that there is more to the story than a couple of bad reviews!
Dr. Allison Craik is the best! I always like her, she is thorough, caring and knowledgeable, she does detail check ups and she listens. Approx 3 years ago I fell off my bike, I came to this walk-in, it happened to be that she was on duty, she performed a very good check ups on my legs and overall balance and assured me it was okay.nnYoung male receptionist is very professional, warm and efficient.
I deeply regret even considering coming here.nnI arrived at the walk in at moon, they booked me for 3pm. I left work early, I arrived at 3pm, waiting until 345, when reception told me the doctor was not innnTotal waste of time. Extremely unprofessional.nnThe office is located inside a pharmacy. Waiting there is extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable.nnDo not go here.
