Horrible experience here. We arrived late on a Friday night travelling from London after working all day. Upon closer inspection in the morning we found that the room was filthy, it looked like the floors hadn’t been vacuumed, it appeared as if the floors or counters hadn’t been washed or wiped down at all from previous guests. We saw evidence of potential bedbug activity. We left the hotel early Saturday morning because it was so gross and nobody felt comfortable. The bed had stains, dirt and hair that was not from us. Breakfast was cold, as if it had just been taken out of the fridge as opposed to cooked recently. We brought it to the attention of the front desk and they spoke with the manager, who had no reply, I emailed and did not receive a response for several days. I got an email a few days later, asking for my review of the stay and I believe that customer relations reached out to me at that point, but I have yet to receive a resolution. I did finally get an email back this afternoon from the hotel manager offering me 50% off of a future stay which I find inappropriate because I have no intention of returning to this hotel or possibly any best western in the future. We were in town for a one day cheer competition. We have 2 other hotels booked in the coming weeks and I pray that we have a better experience in the future with other hotels.
Ok, rooms clean and good size. Not a whole lot to do and no pool. Fitness room very small and claustrophobic. Breakfast was pretty disappointing, and weirdly no hot water available to use the tea bags. Would stay again but wouldn’t rush back!
My husband and I were passing through on our way to Montreal and decided to stay here for the night. All was good, check in was easy, room was fine, breakfast wasn’t great but okay. A few days after check out I noticed a $500 charge on my credit card and thought okay maybe they just haven’t credited it back to me thinking it was just the incidental fee, however, almost 2 weeks later and it’s still showing as a charge so I called and was told that a chair was broken in the room, however, we never even sat in this said broken chair, we literally slept and left since we didn’t even check in till almost 9pm and left 12 hours later. The person I spoke to said he would have to “ask someone” and call me back. Don’t you think a phone call letting me know something was apparently broken, some proof even before charging me $500? But no, I never heard a thing. This is absolutely absurd and I want my money back. We will not be booking at this hotel again which is unfortunate as we were thinking of doing this again later in the year. Not happy whatsoever.
I stay in Oshawa occasionally when there's a snowstorm, figured I'd give this hotel a try as it looked s step up from the one next-door. Rooms are big and clean, service staff were nice, first day had to hold the shower spigot with my leg to stop it from popping off while I had a shower, second night different room television broken. Those aren't pretty good odds. For the price point, there's lots of other hotels in Oshawa I'm gonna try.
The staff was nice, they weren't the problem.nThe place doesn't look like the photos. It's very run down.nBathroom door was rubbing against the floor so hard that my kids couldn't open it.nWas placed next to the ice machine even though the place was empty.nBeds were hard as rocks and uncomfortable.nReally super basic breakfast with a broken waffle machine.
