Updated review post feedback from hotel:nnIn response to the hotel's response, I would add that a clean room and clean washroom would fall below anyone's expectations and not just my own. Also, while I can appreciate that renovations are planned for the near future, it doesn't excuse the fact that the hotel rooms and washrooms should be clean and facilities should be in proper working order.nnOriginal review:nnI'm not sure where the 4 star average rating comes from and that was the reason I booked this hotel. While the hotel is quite nice upon entering, the service is friendly, and the breakfast is decent, the elevators, rooms and cleanliness are quite sub-par. First off, the elevators do not work well and floor numbers do not appear on the screen. Secondly, the rooms are extremely dated from top to bottom and the washrooms even more so. Our toilet was so dated that I haven't seen one like it since my youth in the 80s. It flushed and filled extremely slowly and likely wasted 20 litres of water per flush. Finally, the cleanliness of the room was poor. Several hairs from previous guests, dirt marks on the door, dark spots on the tub tiles, marks on the pillow case and towels, and a dirty outer part of the toilet. That last one should never ever be the case, and I honestly can't understand how a cleaner could miss that. If nothing else, a washroom should always be clean for a new guest. All in all, the bar needs to be raised here on many fronts.
Great service and perfect location. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing.nIf you want to go out and have a few drinks the beertown is a 10 min walk up the street. Great food and wonderful service. My husband and I try enjoyed our little getaway.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel Saturday Aug 3rd because we attended a wedding near by. This is a 3 star “hotel” at best. The service was really good, the staff at the front desk were very welcoming and attentive. The rooms however are extremely out dated, and our room had an odd smell. The bathroom was particularly terrible with a rust spot right in the middle of the tub, and the toilet barely flushed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn’t spend a lot time at the hotel so we didn’t get to try the amenities, however the one time I tried a latte from the coffee machine in the lobby it tasted like soap and I threw it away.
Pleasant 2 night stay at the Best Western Plus in Cambridge. The guest room was clean, the service was very good, and the food fresh snd plenty. Although, the guest room was very clean, it could use some updated carpet, tub, and new and quiet air-conditioning unit. Thank you
I have stayed at this property many times over the past 2 years. Each visit I'm told they'll be refurbishing the rooms soon. This visit I was told they don't know when yet the construction containers are in the parking lot. The night clerk is very customer focused. The rooms are disgusting. Mildew smell, peeling wallpaper, black mold in tub, shower head unattached from the wall. The air conditioner sounds like a freight train and is impossible to sleep with it turned on. The only positive is the free breakfast.
