When you think of fancy restaurants in the Toledo area, benchmark should truly be on that list. It’s fancy, with a high end menu and impressive cocktail menu, and that makes it a date-night or celebratory dream. We started with the whipped feta, and it was probably the best appetizer I’ve shoved into my mouth in ages. Just divine, and I don’t even like feta that much. It was salty and savory, and the bread was addictive as all get out. Also delightful were the thick cut bacon slices in syrup. I opted for the 6oz filet with horseradish sauce, and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. There were no survivors. My Parmesan fries were also so lovely they didn’t make it all the way home in the box before we drove right back in. It’s nice to have options outside of downtown Toledo for a romantic evening out, and I love seeing spots like Benchmark rise to the occasion.
Unpopular opinion alert; Benchmark is, just, okay. It's not even the best steak in Toledo Oliver House, Nancy's both better, imo. You'll get an upscale atmosphere, good service, and an above average dining experience. You won't get an exceptional experience that blows you away which, at their price point, you should. Again, just my opinion.
One of my favorite spots in Toledo. The bacon appetizer is a must. I got the rack of lamb and my girlfriend got the Asian short rib. We usually get steak, but wanted to mix it up. The lamb was good but not my favorite. Short rib was delicious
Great atmosphere and family friendly restaurant. Audrey our waitress was knowledgeable and provided good customer service throughout the night. Our plates were picked up immediately when finished with them and our water was always filled. I highly recommend this restaurant, We came for dinner New Years Eve before our main festivities for the night.
We were pleasantly surprised by our dining experience. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We got the featured appetizer with steak on ciabatta with arugula and it was amazing. I got the lamb rack dinner and had enough for leftovers. Fredy got the sea scallops and truly enjoyed them. I’m not a scallop fan but they were good. Next time will definitely try the steak dinner the slices on our appetizer were on point. Everything is locally sourced and made fresh. The drinks are fun and unique. And the bread starter included was some of the best we’ve had - fluffy, warm and flavorful and perfectly paired with whipped butter.
Went for my birthday dinner and it was fantastic! Our server Nick was awesome and couldn’t have asked for a better one! Nick answered all of our questions and was on top of it! We ordered the tomahawk for two and it was plenty! The twice baked potato is fantastic! Don’t even get me started on how amazing the Bourbon cake is! I definitely recommend this place! Some of the best service i’ve ever had!
Nice steak place. If you had their brussel sprouts before, just know that they will be coming back onto the menu. I had the butternut squash risotto which paired wonderfully with the balsamic reduction drizzle. They serve popovers with your entree. I also tried the Love/Hate mocktail; an interesting blend of grapefruit juice and pickle juice that was balanced just right to be able to taste them both. Vegetarian options: The butternut squash risotto is the only vegetarian selection on their menu.
Amazing food! The cheese bread gets you from the start. The meat is exquisitely done but you would miss the world if you don’t try the Brussels sprouts!
Absolutely phenomenal. The whipped feta appetizer is delicious. Service is amazing. My evening here was an absolute delight.
Pictures are from our second time here. Yes the prices are higher than normal places to eat. But you get absolutely what you pay for. Service is impeccable. Food is through the roof! You will not be disappointed.Food: 5/5
