Bellingham Food Bank is Whatcom County's largest emergency food provider. We provide great fresh food and dignity.

Mission

Our mission is to reduce hunger in Bellingham by providing wholesome foods to those in need and to educate the community about local hunger issues.

It's not bad. The system for distributing is ok but the parking is an absolute nightmare. The banks in the Midwest were better. The selection is decent, plenty of produce. Just the human filth in this town that frequents it is pretty bad; talking about all the court dates, jail times, drama etc. Far worse than other food banks. Also, every food bank should weigh people to see if they're height to weight proportionate. Obese people don't need to be collecting more grease and starches and most of the people in line are grossly overweight. Also, people need to be bathed. Plenty of the people in line have cars (damn fine ones) and houses but don't seem to know what a shower is.

I'm a volunteer. We in Whatcom county are very fortunate to have excellent Food banks. Our food banks are well funded and supplied by our community.The food banks are a sterling example of the wonderful community spirit that is alive and well here!

The Bellingham Food Bank is a good place to go when your low on food. The only thing I have to say is get there early and get in line early so you don't have to wait forever outside in line and freeze your a## off. The line can be quite long. And the person watching the desert line inside really means business so only take what your suppose to as far as the desert goes or else that desert person will get you.otherwise you just have to make sure that you bring updated proof of address. Every 3 months I do believe it is that you have to renew it. They have pretty good food to give out. I recommend it to people who are low on groceries and I recommend it to people who have extras in their garden and need a place to donate it.
