In 1971, Johnny Morris rented a trailer and took off across the United States filling it with all the premium fishing tackle he could find. When he returned home to Springfield, Missouri, Johnny set up shop in his dad's liquor store. With this simple idea, Bass Pro Shops® was born.

Always love going here. Stuff is usually very nice and helpful. Store is big, clean and well organized. Of course a hit is the giant Aquarium - keeps the wee ones happy while the parents can take turns to go shopping or watch the kids. Washrooms were clean as well.nOnly negative point I can think of the low quality of the kids toys. My son really wanted to have the toy gun, bought it from his own money and it broke the same night after he dropped it ones while playing with it. Sorry but I think toys are allowed to fall without breaking right away. Might take it as a hint to get better quality in your toy section the kids will be happy and probably will be you future customers so don't screw them over.
Had an amazing experience here today I shop here all the time. I went in to buy a safe and then ended up staying, learning and buying a bunch more. I was helped by a wonderful associate named Michelle in the Archery section, I explained that I was doing a Rim to Rim hike for the first time and that I needed some help. She was more than willing and knowledgeable about the subject to help me the whole way through. That is top quality customer service and it shows that she cares and has interests in the customers. She was even able to teach me a few tips! Definitely getting the rest of my gear there. Top quality service and products.
Worst experience ever me and a friend of mine were treated horribly. me and my friend are disabled people. We are both autistic people. My friend is 65 years old. I am 55 years old nothing wrong with my intelligence whatsoever. My friend might steam at times we asked four times for help and we were ignored completely friend of mine was laughed at, they just thought he was stupid. They ignored us. I went in for to sleeping bags. They cost $139 each, but I couldn’t find it because they had it all messed up the numbers and the item and I wasn’t sure which was which without opening them , we asked for help different times we were ignored. It’s not till I went and the person saw me because I can act better as a typical than my friend. I finally got the help, but under his breath, he was laughing. He was very rude to us, walked away when we were talking to , didn’t want to spend time with us at all. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences here. Your team needs trained. Better treat everyone as equal. It’s just horrible. We shouldn’t have to go through. This type of experience. I guess abilities are not accepted at this location. I’ve spent thousands of dollars here , I have a very high IQ I work for the government I teach autistic kids in the classroom, Hamilton when we district school work but I shouldn’t have to explain myself myself, worst, we just want to be treated as equals as a human being, not laughed at or looked down upon because of who we are. I’ve even been asked in the past at this location if I had enough money to pay for these items.
We purchased a Shimano Stradic, Miravel, Fenwick Eagle rod, and some lures. The selection was impressive, and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The store itself is amazing, with a great variety of fishing and boating gear. The aquarium is a wonderful touch, especially for kids—it’s both entertaining and educational. Additionally, they offer a wide range of hunting gear, and the large parking area made the visit very convenient. They also provide deals from time to time, and I took advantage of their protection plan for my gear, which gave me extra peace of mind. Overall, Bass Pro Niagara is one of the best fishing and boat stores I’ve been to. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed the shop... like a Museum. We mean that we are not into fishing and hunting but the store is amazing. We loved every single bit of it. Really nice!
